Essential Tool for GE Washing Machines
I don't "like" this tool. It is an accessory tool that is required to disassemble a GE washing machine tub assembly. What I do like is that I got the part here on Amazon for $15 when it's almost four times as expensive anywhere else. Shipping from non-Amazon 3rd party was very quick. So this got one more star just for the customer experience. Not only is this a proprietary tool, but it's not of high quality material and is made of a fairly soft metal. When using the tool you need to really hit this spanner wrench hard to loosen the reverse-threaded nut located under the plastic washing machine agitator. This tool is now all dented up with sharp metal edges from using it one time! This tool saved me a $100+ call to an appliance technician, but I wish the tub didn't need this tool at all. My shortest wrenches and pipe wrenches would not fit inside the tub or get a good grip to loosen the seriously tight nut. There are a few CNC machined knockoffs on the Internet. At the low price I paid I got the OEM tool.

i brought this tool after when i should have just ordered it with the replacement machine tub seal, washer and the tub bearing. you live and learn the ome from ge is a perfect fit , the the silver color wrench is no good you need the ge wrench to have the proper grip and torque. a rubber mallet and 30 to 40 whacks take it was off with the help of wd40 and liquid wrench. dry soap and corrosion to wait 10, 15 minutes and it came off. wear work gloves strongly recommend

Indespensable if you are replacing GE front servicable washer transmission
You WILL need this tool to remove the large difficult-to-remove nut that fastens the tub to the transmission shaft. I recommend using penetrating oil and then be prepared to whack this spanner with a heavy hammer a few dozen times to loosen and remove the nut. Save yourself some aggravation and purchase a new hub nut (WH2X1193) and split ring (WH02X10265) at the same time because the old ones will probably be badly corroded and not worth messing with. Also purchase a new belt (GEWH1X2026). The [...] video titled "Transmission replace GE front serviceable washer" was a great help even though it left out a few obvious required steps - not a big deal.
