MONSTER HIDE-AND-SEE Board book – May 14, 2013

My daughter loves Monster Inc right now. She can't get enough. Thought this would be a cute little book for her and the glow in the dark feature would be fun. Book is cute, each page Mike is looking for a monster on the page and my daughter loves to point him out. Not a ton of words on each page which is good for her attention span (20 months old) and she likes to flip through on her own and pick out the monsters. Downside is as other reviewers mentioned.....the glow feature is not the best. And by that, I mean it did not work at all for us. I can't get the pages to glow at all. But the book is still cute and she has no idea but would have been nice.

I bought this for my daughter's Christmas book exchange as the receiving child was about 3 yrs old and loves monsters Inc. You know how we all try to not look like the parent who just bought a boring book within the slated budget? This was a nice disney book that was exactly what the kid liked and had the added glow in the dark feature that gave the book gift that little extra edge. Heard it was well received.

Doesn't hold the glow for long. Pain to have to "Charge" pictures RIGHT before reading.....

Followed the advice of others to used a flashlight. Tried the cellphone flash first, it was OK.Then used a proper, high quality LED flashlight, and all of us were VERY impressed!!Take a look at the picture i posted. Notice, in a decently lit room it glows pretty good!

The Cars book, while enjoyable, loses its luminosity within 10-12 seconds, while the Monsters, Inc. book lasts up to a minute in places. We can finish the next page and turn back a page in the Monsters book and still see faint glowing. The Cars book quickly fades as you're reading the page.I let my three year old use a non-LED flashlight while reading to activate the glow. LED flashlights work better with charging the paint, but the pages are very reflective and it's easy for him to shine it directly in his eyes (discounting all the times he intentionally tries to shine it directly in his eyes).A lamp near the seat that can be easily turned off and on is a good light source to charge the book as well. Hold it as close to the bulb as you can get it for a few seconds, turn the light off, and it will glow brightly while you tell the story.

We ordered this as a Christmas present for our 2 year old. It is adorable with lots of areas that glow in the dark. He's currently into finding items on the page, so I'm sure he'll love this book!! It was packaged perfectly and arrived with no bend corners, etc. Looks like I picked it up at the store myself : )

It’s okay. Not a whole lot to the story. I didn’t have the glow in the dark issue because we use a black light pen in all our glow in the dark books. It’s amazing, I highly suggest it. Ours came with our crayola glow station, but they don’t make them anymore.

The story is cute but the glow in the dark portion isn't so good. Even after leaving the book open under lights for a few minutes per page, by the end of the story there is barely if any glow.
