Good gig bag (Now an okay bag with little outside protection)
It's not hard cased, but it's still a decent case. Has wheels and you can carry it as a backpack as well. More easy for transportation instead of having to carry it.****Update****: I had found out recently that though this case has a lot of padding protection in the inside, it's not a case well for outside protection. It can cause ur horn to get damaged if it falls over, has bumps during a rough car ride, and is easily damage if not careful. If your looking for a case for great protection from damage for your horn, this isn't the case you should buy.

Love it
I got this case about 3-4 months ago to use for gigging instead of the enormous stock coffin case.I really like this case in almost every way. Gig-bag style, so you can move the internal pads around a bit to fit your horn. I have a low-A Yanagisawa. I mainly use the handles and the roller wheels, which roll smoothly. It's a little tippy to the left and right, so be mindful on uneven ground. It has backpack straps but I don't plan to ever use them.Padding is overall good for how light this case is, except one spot at the top, below the handle you use when rolling the case. There is a leather patch with virtually no padding, and this is right where the top of the horn loops around. Set it down carefully and if carrying by the main handle make sure you don't bump the front/top of the case into hard surfaces (duh). I am very careful with all my horns, even ones in flight cases, so this works great for me day-to-day, especially doubling with a bunch of instruments and stands (side pouch of this thing can carry a flute if you want). Wouldn't fly with it or throw it on a truck. If you are a clumsy type AT ALL, don't get this case though --- the padding is good if you are careful with your horns, but you better not drop it or smash into a corner running to the gig! Low winds friends of mine seem to like the SKB case for more protection.

Amazing, but be wary of flying.
This is such a great case. In the pouch on the side is where I keep my reeds, mouthpiece, ligature, neck strap, and I can even fit my folding wire stand! The backpack straps is good if you are already carrying other items or you can opt for rolling it with the wheels. However, this is a soft case. I just came back from a European tour and I took the risk of using this case. I flew with Delta airlines so that might have been a factor, but my saxophone was damaged in a few places. I was able to get it buffed by our third concert (and will be taking to a shop now that I'm back in the States), but this soft case does not offer as well protection as a hard case, even with the blocks.I will still use this case for light travel (like driving or simply walking from place to place) but I am considering purchasing the ProTec hard shell case for heavy travel like flying (I don't fly often though, this was my first time). I don't feel it's fair to give this product any less than four stars because it's common sense to know that an instrument in soft case is more at risk of being damaged than one with a hard shell case.Overall, I am very pleased with the product and if this specific case had all of the same features *but* had a harder shell (or at least better protection), this would be an easy five star rating.

Perfect for local travel
I haul my sax back and forth across the city a couple days a week, and am really loving this case for its reduced weight (relative to the factory case) and range of carrying options. Being able to stick my case on my back and walk to the bus stop or train station is a total game-changer. The side pocket is also just big enough to fit a folding stand. The movable velcro-backed interior pads were pretty easy to configure to give my bari (low-A Yani) a secure fit. The case itself is solid enough that I am not worried about getting jostled a little when I'm out and about. No, you probably don't want to check it for air travel, but I'm never going to fly with my saxophone so for me this is not an issue. Two things that would take this from really good to perfect: a waist belt accessory that clips onto the bottom d-rings of the shoulder straps (to distribute some weight off the shoulders), and a side pocket large enough to fit a folder of music (so that you can be totally hands-free in backpack mode). I like the case well enough that I may try to fashion at least the waist belt myself though.

LIGHTWEIGHT PROTECTION ON WHEELS FOR BARI SAX
I BOUGHT THIS CASE FOR MY HUSBAND AND HE LOVES THAT THIS PROTEC CASE ISN'T BULKY, IS LIGHTWEIGHT, HAS WHEELS AND HAS A NICE STORAGE POCKET ON THE SIDE. ALL OF HIS OTHER SAXOPHONES HAVE PROTEC CASES. I WAS SO THANKFUL TO FIND THIS ONE FOR HIS BARI SAX THAT HAS WHEELS! HIS OLD HARD CASE WAS HEAVY AND BULKY AND VERY HARD TO HANDLE. A FRIEND HAS A DIFFERENT SOFT CASE BUT THAT ONE IS BULKY WITH MANY OUTSIDE POCKETS THAT ARE ODD SIZES AND DON'T HOLD ANYTHING USEFUL. THIS CASE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! WE PLAN ON BUYING ONE JUST LIKE IT FOR A DEAR FRIEND FOR CHRISTMANS THIS YEAR. THANK YOU FOR AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. WE WILL ALWAYS BUY PROTEC!

It has wheels! (and hair)
My daughter loves the case. The option to carry it as a backpack is great, and the wheels make it so convenient! The ONLY thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is having to pick all of what appears to be dog hair from inside. Fortunately, there was no odor and everything else is great.

The back straps are so nice that I can hide them up if I want ...
I have used another Baritone bag before (Soundwear) and this Protec bag give more functionality than the previous one.If I want to make the bag 'stand' up, it has a supporting stand at the side of wheels, which can give a more stable support. The back straps are so nice that I can hide them up if I want to pull the bag on road only. Moreover, its weight is relatively lighter than my previous bag, which make my life easier in bringing my Baritone out to practice place. This bag is an item worth of its price but I have no idea why Protec seems to cease producing this bag anymore. T

Great product and great service!
Order came a day early actually and the contents exceeded my expectations.Bari sax fit snugly in the case and seemed well protected.Sax and case were about 9 pounds lighter than my hard case.Case also has external pockets to accommodate a variety of items including neck strap ,music, binders etc.Zippers seemed to be industrial strength!Even better case has wheels and handle and straps for backpacking?Only criticism is it doesn't come with skis for Canadian winters!!All in all a great product at a great price!

So much lighter!!!
Took a bit to figure out the placement of the blocks and how to put the sax in, but once we figured that out, OMG. With my baritone this bag, it's lighter than the hardcase empty! Love it!Haven't had any issues with the backpack straps or wheels. Definitely recommend for light travel.

Great Case
This case works great with my Selmer Mark VI bari. It's much lighter than my previous cases. It has wheels and straps. Just need to be a bit more careful in transit.

Protects Baritone Sax With Less Carrying Weight
Used to carry, or occasionally took an extra vertical dolly (portable 2 wheeler) to transport the sax in its original wooden frame case before acquiring the PL 253. Great construction and protective design with a difference of 8.6 lbs overall less total weight to manage (main factor). The horn is secure once the gig bag is carefully zippered and the side pocket nicely designed for extras. Great!
