Men’s RVRC GP Pro Zip Off Pants, Durable, Ventilated and Convertible Pants for All Outdoor Activities

I recently wore these pants on an 8 day backpacking trip and they held up very well. They seem to be a great alternative to my Fjallraven pants that are had began tearing at the seams after only 1 season of backpacking.The sizing: I read the reviews and sized up from XL to 2XL and I'm a 36x34 in pants, 6'3", 230 lbs. The pants fit well and there is enough elastication in the waist belt that I could see someone with a 35 waist or up to a 38 fit fine. I guess if you are two sizes up or down then size up/down accordingly. I'm also a big guy...not skinny but not fat. The leg room was good and I didn't feel like I was wearing skinny pants thankfully. I have very large calves and they fit as well. The inseam length was also good and I was not wearing high waters when I sat down.Features: The 3 zippered front pockets were all very usable and the zip off legs also worked just fine. Good quality all around, however, I'm not a big fan of the button snap ankles. It's doubtful I'll use them ever but the cuff did just fit over my backpacking boots. I run 7 year old Salomon Quest 4D boots and was happy the pants fit over them. It would be really nice to see side vent zippers just about the knees to let out heat when hiking. This is a feature of my Fjallraven's and I use them a lot.Overall: I'd buy them again for sure. In fact I bought a 2nd pair. If they outlast my Fjallraven Keb Trousers which I can tell they will I'll be happy and have spent less than half the price. I'm glad there are good alternatives out there and these fit the bill nicely. I did rub Greenland wax into the legs and heated it in with a blow dryer and that added a nice water resistance to the cotton material.In summary I'm very happy with the pants and I will definitely buy more. We'll see how the current 2 hold up over the next year of backpacking.

Quality of the pants were great, but the sizing ran extremely small

These pants are excellent lightweight material and easily unzip to shorts. I wear these with Bonn Underarmor protection when summer motorcycle riding.

Heavy duty fabric will hold up to hiking in thorny brush, rough rock climbs/scrambles and are designed for good range of motion. Deep zippered pockets keep your stuff worry free secure. My only criticism would be the zippers for the leggings are plastic and I'm not sure they'll hold up with heavy use over years. They weren't so easy to use even the first time. And they look cool. Haven't tried them biking or in light rain but I think they'll be good for that, too.

By far, the best bang for your buck! Grear for desert hiking.

Fabric is good.Design is good.It’s comfortable and cool inside .It seems to not easily ripped out and get dirty.Why I gave 4 stars: in the butt area you will see a big puffy bulge like you wear a diaper.I might have an anatomy anomaly LOL.Or perhaps that is the reason I feel cool even in extreme exercise!!Thank you

The pants have nice material and waist size is perfect (size XL) I’m usually a 34-30. The legs are just too tight. The thigh area is tight and the lower legs all the way down are too tight. The length is way too long it’s about a 34” in length if not more. I wish you could choose the waist and length size like most pants. I sized up from a large. So size up!I had to get the pants hemmed at an alterations place.

Unfortunately for me the pant was just too long. I need the short version of my size and from the website it looks like it only exists with the pant that isn't able to convert into shorts. Bummer

(Si e un uso un po estremo ma dopo mesi questi pantaloni sono pari a nuovo).

I like to stay in shorts for as long as possible, so these zip offs are ideal for me! I love the look and fit, they have loads of pockets for all my bits and bobs, are easy to break down and re assemble so are easily the best zip offs I’ve ever had!

Die Hose sitzt wirklich gut. Sie liegt gut am Bein ohne die Bewegungsfreiheit einzuschränken. Auch die seitlichen Bein-Taschen sind sehr praktisch und wenn man sie nutzt (z.B. Smartphone, Geldbörse hineintut) wirkt der Inhalt auch nicht störend beim laufen. Allerdings sind die Reißverschlüsse für Zip Off/On Funktion der Hosenbeine leider etwas unpraktisch. Zwar sind die Reißverschlüsse unterschiedlich gefärbt (sodass man sofort weiß auf welche Seite welches Hosenbein gehört), sie sind allerdings zu filigran was die Nutzung erschwert. Das macht das anbringen der Hosenbeine im angezogenen Zustand recht schwierig denn das Einfädeln in in das mikroskopisch kleine Endteil wird zum Geduldsspiel und der Reißverschluss neigt dann dazu sich beim laufen wieder selbständig zu öffnen. Das ist Outdoor und im dunkeln besonders nervig. Ein etwas größerer/robusterer Reißverschluss wäre besser geeignet.
