Had for a week, son rode it twice, falling apart, not worth the moderate price
When I was growing up Mongoose was a super great brand for kids bikes. Now that I am a dad I had to buy a first bike for my son. I went straight to Amazon and picked out this nice looking Mongoose Stun for a moderate price compared to others but more expensive than a Huffy from Walmart. My son rode this thing twice in the past week since we bought it on 8/22/24. All of the bearings disintegrated as they looked to have not been greased at all prior to assembling the hub and crank at the factory. Also one of the axles broke as well. These seem to be areas that the engineers are purposely cutting costs on forcing you to replace these various pieces. I should have just paid more for a better brand or better yet had just bought a cheap Huffy from Walmart. I would avoid Mongoose now as it is not the quality product you remember from your youth.

Purchase for my grandson for Christmas
I had a Mongoose bike when I was a kid and it was indestructible (even the mag wheels was metal). Things have changed in the 40 plus years since I had mine, I guess we will see how strong this bike actually is.

Mongoose is the best
The bike was perfect except the front wheel was warped. The reason it was is a human being stepped on or kicked the box so hard they bent the front tire. Who the f would do this to a child during Christmas? I really hope Amazon looked into the problem and did the right thing. I do recommend this bike, just not the jerk who hates their job.

Great bike - cannot use training wheels though.
We bought this for our 6-1/2 year old grandson. He is currently transitioning between a smaller bike with training wheels to a larger one without. The bike itself is awesome. BEWARE - it does not have any room to attach training wheels. The bike is currently sitting in the backyard because he can't ride without training wheels yet. This will be perfect when he finally learns. We do really love the bike, it is excellent quality.
