Fox Run Shaker with Large Holes, Stainless Steel, 3.75-Inch

I was surprised at how well made this shaker is. It also comes with a lid which is nice so that whatever you have left will remain safe and free from contaminants. It is the perfect size for my meat smoking needs and will come in handy every time I need to put rub on whatever I am preparing at the time.

Purchased this item to dispense addictive Korean Red Chili Flakes. Heavy duty stainless steel container with chromed steel cap should last forever. Plastic lid/seal is a big plus. Like other users, I felt that the cap did not fit tight enough and would have preferred a screw-on cap. I pondered taking a punch to the detents like another user suggested but the container is heavy-duty stainless and you'd need an anvil and heavy punch and hammer to make a difference. However, I came up with an easier solution: slip a rubber band around the lip of the cap, push it to the top and you'll find that the cap seals securely.

I purchased this shaker to use for shaking 10-10-10 fertilizer onto my iris raised beds, rather than for kitchen use. Right out of the box, I was impressed with its solid, quality appearance. But here's the rub: the so-called "locking" top falls off at the first shake. What a shame they made such a nice shaker with a lid that would fall right off. For my purposes, though, I would buy it again. I can hold the lid on with a wide rubber band to fertilize my flower beds, but I don't think the rubber band would look too great at the dinner table.

This is a very nice, very high quality shaker. I use it for a meat rub I make that has course salt, thyme, and other large granules in it. The holes are big enough to allow everything through. The plastic top that seals in the freshness is essential, and it's included on this item. The only ding I give this shaker is the price is a tad too high. If it were $6-$8 I would buy multiple and buy them for friends. North of $10, not so much....

The plastic cover removes too easily. Should ne more tight.

Good product, but does have a fault. The lid doesn't tighten and turns very easily. Meaning it can turn a bit and if you'e not careful, pop off while use it .... not good. This is easily remedied with a bit of masking tape on the interior of the jar. This increases drag enough on the lid to fix the issue. The only flaw with the product.

I happened to be sitting at my desk when I realized that a large shaker with large holes would help me out. I like to season my food with a mixture of sea salt, coarsely ground pepper, and a variety of spices. I had been picking up each container one at a time and it took more time than I wanted to devote. When the shaker arrived, I was able to blend all the seasonings together - and an added blessing - the shaker has a PLASTIC LID to keep the seasonings dry and loose and tasty.

I had thought from the picture shown that the shaker was at least as tall as a container of cheese...it's 1/2 as tall. Other then that, it's ok.
