Brisker Brushed S/S Original Electric Crisper

Review update Dec 2017 -I've downgraded this to 3 stars. 1) The magnet required to hold door shut is held on by very flimsy 'double sided tape' - we've had to replace/modify to get it to 'stick' 2) Calling this the "Original Electric Crisper" is misleading if you've ever encountered an 'Original' unit. For the price, this is constructed with very poor quality materials. While it does it's job of keeping snacks crisp, shame on Brisker for the 'downgrades'. If you're going to spend the $$ on this, at least support local and find one at a kitchen supply shop, don't buy here.May 2015 - I would describe this as a crisper for your snacks and a must have for anyone in humid climate, or for snack-aholics (crackers, flatbread, chips, dried fruit, nuts, etc). My husband keeps his baseball peanuts in the Brisker - so yummy all warm and toasty.The *only* reason I did not give this 5 stars: I bought this after seeing (an older model) at the home of a friend. This model is the brushed stainless steel type metal and *very thin*, so much so the bottom of the interior has a bounce of sorts. I would have gladly paid more for an upgraded version with higher quality materials as I do not consider this a disposable kitchen appliance. (Friend's older model was true stainless steel with copper bottom)

I’ve had this brisket for a few weeks now and it works very well. Has kept chips crisp and my crackers are still crisp even after opening the sleeve a couple weeks ago. Would highly recommend…

Various family members have owned Briskers for years. None has ever failed, even after 25+ years of continuous use. When my daughter mentioned she wanted one, I immediately sent for one. Unfortunately, it arrived during a drenching Nor'easter and was not protected as it sat outside for a number of hours. As the box was just short of wet paper mache, I was worried about the Brisker's working condition. I sent an email to Amazon expressing my concern and wanting advice on what to do. I did not expect to hear back for at least a couple of days so I was shocked when I heard from the company less than 45 minutes later! I was directed to place the package for pickup the next day and they would immediately ship a replacement. I've never experienced such prompt and wonderful customer service for any internet/mail-order purchase! A great product from a VERY responsive company! And my daughter is just loving having her own Brisker, getting rid of the clutter of cookie, cracker and chip bags or boxes on her shelves and knowing the "goodies" will stay fresher much longer.

I learned about Brisker on a lake in New Hampshire. My wife and I literally ordered Briskers on the same evening in late July. We kept them both and put one here in Pennsylvania with the other in NH. My favorite use is re drying pistachios which can go stale but are so expensive. The Brisker refreshes them as well as crackers, pretzels and other snacks. I also cut up leftover meat and dry it in the Brisker for dog snacks. Be sure to leave the package open in the Brisker. Intuition tells you to seal the package but that keeps the Brisker from doing its job. Imagine a half finished bowl of popcorn that tastes fresh again after a night in the Brisker!

Living within sight of the ocean, I found it impossible to keep crackers crispy and salt shakers shaking during the damp summer season. So I bought the Brisker 678B Brushed S/S Original Electric Crisper. It works wonderfully -- no more putting more rice than salt in the shakers and no more soggy snacks. I have only one very minor complaint: the magnetic strip that keeps the Brisker closed is supposed to be attached permanently to the body of the Brisker with an adhesive. It doesn't work, but since the strip is magnetic, it doesn't really matter very much whether it's sticking to the body or the door. It still keeps the door closed.I would definitely recommend this product to anybody who lives in a humid climate.

This was a gift for my daughter's new home. She grew up with ours.. which was bequeathed to us from a relative.. she is soooo happy to have her warm crispy chips again.

My mother had one of there for many years. Wasn’t sure they were still made. So went on Amazon and there it was! Came today (earlier than expected!!) and is already full of cereal, chips and crackers! No more stale anything to throw away! Plus it fit perfectly in an unused space on my counter!!!

We have a place on the shore and crackers, pretzels, cheerios and cookies would never stay crisp. This really keep them all crispy and delicious.
