If you have the ability to hook it up directly to the router, I'd say do it. You will be very impressed. Talk about instant connection and easy hookup—wow, so worth it! Get yourself a good internet cable. Always measure; bigger is better. Then, get yourself this Ethernet adapter, go through the connection steps, and be ready for your Fire Stick to come to life instantly. The Fire Stick worked better—like zero to a hundred times better. 4K is 4K. The image on my TV was too clear, and the speed—zoom, zoom, zoom—way faster! So impressed by how much better it was. Also, I bought this brand because it has connection yellow and green lights, so you know it's working. A++ for this product for easy install, very quick connections (it sets itself up automatically), and for the quality of how it's made. Also, I keep my Fire Stick in front of my TV, which keeps the heat down. Easy to disconnect to take it on trips. Plus, now with this adapter, I never need to reach behind the TV if there's an issue.
