Writers, get you stalled engines going with this one. It's the cure for the exhausted and exhausting writer's block. Bought this as a gift for my granddaughter who loves to create stories. I’m so impressed with the wonderful illustrations. Each is beautifully done, with so many creative details to inspire little plot twists and spur imagination. She will love it and have so much fun with this. I can’t wait to give it to her!

This book has the most magical illustrations and is a great way to start imaginative stories with your kids. Beautiful children’s books are so fun to display too and this one does not disappoint

The cover reminds me of every 80's fantasy film poster. It has a forward by Neil Gaiman. But... Essentially it's just mostly blank pages with illustrations. Hardly a "handbook" at all. You're supposed to write your own story. I should have paid more attention because that was not at all what I was looking for.

So many wonderful worlds are found within these pages. A true delight. Great opportunity to talk with your kids—really talk with them…no screens, no batteries…just imagination, emotion and ‘what if.’ Calming even to look thru as an adult…such detail.

Elise Hurst's illustrations are just amazing. So talented.

I haven't used it yet to write a story, yet the drawings are gorgeous and just looking at them is satisfying.

I bought this book for my 11-year-old daughter, but my 72-year-old friend was equally mesmerized, and so was I! wonderful illustrations, great for the imagination of young and old alike.
