Great book
This book will take you on a beautiful, mythical and magical inner journey. Loved reading about the Northern European traditions, the creation myth and the archetypal characters that reside in the same. Recommended to anyone who has an interest in Norse mythology or who needs a firm foundation prior to tackling reading the Poetic or Prose Eddas. Andreas Kornevall is a knowledgeable author who writes from the heart and compassion to replenish the ancient ‘Well of Memory’.

Full of poetic wisdom
With the soft beauty of the poet, the calm touch of a father and the gentle wisdom of an elder, I’d implore anyone down the line of myth, dreaming and finding meaning in the fragments of the Northern European tradition we have left to have a gander.

A book distilled from Sacred Mead
This is a beguiling book that I’m going to have to savour again. It is full of ideas - some fully expounded, others teasing you to follow where they point. Revelatory insights about the runes are almost causally included amidst a telling of stories made brilliantly relevant to today. What do the cryptic Edna’s have to teach us? Read this book and you’ll realise a wealth of wisdom lies waiting to be revealed, and it’s urgent that we do so.

If you want yto spend half the book reading about Orpheus and Eurydice buy this!
Very disappointed. Starts well, but with over half the book dedicated to a Greek Myth, noot what i expected. Less than informative on Runes and Norse Mythology.

A Norse Journey through Myth, Runes and Ritual Healing
This engaging book works to revive the Norse myths of old; their cycles, and the runes, rituals, and magic that accompany them as a living reengagement with the world. Through his engagement with two of the main sources of Norse mythology, the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda, as well as other sources of Norse mythological knowledge and magic, Kornevall takes us on a journey through the beginning of the world, the gods, the runes, the Mead of Poetry, and ritual healing. Kornevall, following the Roman writer Sallustius says that “myths are things which never happened, but always are” (p. 11). We don’t need to believe that the stories in myth actually happened in order to recognize the truth and the gold that they hold. We can learn to reconcile our relationships to each other and to the earth by renewing our relationship through myth, magic, runes, and ritual. This is the knowledge of Kvasir and the knowledge in all our mythic traditions. In reminding us of the Norse tradition of myth, and in reviving their ancient meaning, Kornevall encourages us to look into our own depths, water the Tree of Life, and wake the dragon to our own transformation, healing, and reconciliation.I highly recommended for those interested in Norse or Northern mythology, runes, ritual, or those with a general interest in mythology.

I highly recommend this book
I loved the information in this book as I have not found most of these teachings in any other Norse or Rune book.

A deep dive, and lanter wielding guide into North Myth and Magic
Having been a student of Andreas' for many years I am so grateful for this book. It holds a lantern up in the often complex forest of symbol, folklore, and myth of the Nordic world. The stories, images, and musings are deeply applicable to living in times of trouble such as these. I recommend it heartily to anyone curious about how tracking the mythos can serve the continued thriving of the world.

Very intriguing book
I found this book very fascinating. The author covered many topics and I very much enjoyed the tales told to help emphasize the connection to the symbolism involved in the lore. Out of all that the connections, the star lore had me hooked. You rarely hear or read anything about the Northern European star lore which is a shame because it’s literally the root of all ancient belief. I very much look forward to reading this one again.
