This jack works perfectly. All the complaints I see are as a consequence of not having read all the literature in the box. I lifted the front of my RV and let it be for two days. It did not drop at all.

I purchased this bottle Jack for emergencies with our fifth wheel. The wedge style would not work with the type of suspension we had I used this bottle jack to place under the spring perch and with the dual ram set up it goes low enough to fit under the perch yet will lift the axle high enough to remove the wheel. My fifth wheel is rated at 18,000 pounds and this lifted the wheel with so little effort you could almost do it by just putting your finger in the Jack port to pump the jack.

The frame rail of my 1-ton truck is only 9-1/2" above the ground. This slips under behind front wheel and has enough lift to get the tire off the ground. For the rear, I just put it under the spring pack behind the front spring hanger. As with almost every jack I have ever used, the capacity rating is for a gorilla on the end of the handle. I'm not getting any younger. So, the 8-ton model works good for lifting about 2 tons (i.e., each corner of the truck) without having to strain much. Obviously, takes a few more strokes than a lesser-capacity jack. The laws of fluid physics apply to EVERY jack, so that is to be expected. Nice product!

I just turned 73 years old. My wife is 72 years old. I have used Car Jack’s all my life and my dad had the largest car dealership in Cape Cod where I used to work. I was looking forward to this bottle jack for my Tesla S. I tried this Jack twice both times the Jack failed to totally retreat back, despite releasing the turn screw and pumping. I had to get a rubber mallet and hammer the jack away. Fortunately, it went down far enough. I read the directions twice I had my wife read the directions. Going up was easy for my wife who preferred it over the scissors Jack. However, on both occasions retreating was a problem. On both occasions we were frustrated that it did not totally retreat. My wife chose the scissors because the bottle Jack failed and she did not want any more bottle jacks. Still puzzled with what we might have done wrong. Also if you turn the release screw to far, the oil pours out to easily. There is no safety or warning bump as you release the screw. My teacher wife felt the directions made no sense for lowering the jack and with my Ph.D. I was astonished with how poorly written this passed publication editing. Still disappointed.

Go size jack at 4 tons and dual rams work well.

It was well packaged. Being telescopic is the biggest advantage sine it lifts proportionally higher. Used it to lift the corners of an empty 40 ft sea freight container, no issues.

this jack is very very limited in height -- ok for a press but limits lift
