You Should Smile More by Anastasia Ryan 4/5 ⭐️
Vanessa Blair is the biggest animal lover and wants to make a difference in the world. She finds herself in a blah telemarketing job catering to her narcissistic boss. She doesn’t love her job, but she loves who she works with… Jane and Trisha are her best friends. So when her boss, Xavier Adams fires her for her “resting bitch face”, she is shocked. Doesn’t she pull her own weight in the office? Who sees her face? She is a telemarketer!Flabbergasted, the girls turn to schnapps and the book The Art of War by Sun Tzu to conjure up a plan of revenge. Vanessa starts to have second thoughts and decides to file for unemployment. Carter Beckett, the unemployment rep assigned to her case is very interested in her case. With the help of her friends, Carter and her mother, Vanessa stands up to Xavier. You Should Smile More was a cute and entertaining read! I worked as a telemarketer for a short, short time in college so I immediately connected with the main character, Vanessa. I found myself laughing out loud at times especially with the glitter incident. Another laughable element was the Bridge Brigade, Vanessa’s mother and her friends trying to meddle into Vanessa’s business. Finally, I liked how Vanessa and Carter flirted but their romance was not the main focus of the book. I would definitely recommend this book if you want a quirky, fun read!Read this book if you like:🐱Cats☕️Coffee🗄Office workplaces👧🏻Girlpower💝HEA

Fun story
I really enjoyed the book. There were some quirky characters, a good story and a satisfying ending. There was a little romance, a little mystery, some family dynamics, and the older people in the story were pretty real, not stereotypes. About the middle of the book, it was one of those, "well, one more chapter and then I will [do things I should be doing]" books.

Unflinching and funny dig at workplace culture
If you've ever found yourself trying to skip out on the office Halloween costume party or rolling your eyes at another feel good employee engagement email, Vanessa Blair is given the chance you finally say everything you've probably been thinking when she inexplicably loses her menial telemarketing job.Anastasia Brown's novel is both witty and full of tiny absurdities, but the pleasure in following along with the small circle of workplace rebels that self-enlist in her unintended private war against her former employer, is found in parsing out which of Vanessa's blatantly ridiculous office experiences actually ring true to life, and which of the exaggerated egos she has worked for remind you of business leaders you may have actually worked for.

A laugh out loud, funny read!!
This was a cute, funny book that had me laughing out loud and my husband asking what are you reading!? I loved the glitter bomb, and the over the top revenge on a toxic boss. Sometimes the best medicine is a funny book with characters you would want to be friends with. Definitely would recommend this book if you want a good laugh, and an escape from the everyday.

You Should Smile More By Anastasia Ryan had me laughing alot!!!
What a fun book!!! I loved it!!! This is a must read book! Fun book with strong women characters! I thought Anastasia had peeked into my life, having recently experienced in my work life what she wrote about (a very insecure bad boss). I have purchased 4 extra books as gifts. Thank you Anastasia, you made me smile, laugh and have hope. Lola
