I’ve purchased two sets of these rod holders, the first time installation took time and a bit of figuring out the best way to install with the proper size and angle hole. The second pair was easy to install. Take your time and think it through before cutting and sanding. I'm not experienced at things like this but do have some ability to figure things out. I needed a drill, screwdriver, Lexel sealant, and a rotary tool with a sanding attachment. The spot where it's going to be installed had to be flat, make sure to tighten the screws by hand, not with the drill. I installed the handles with watertight rivets, purchase on Amazon, since there’s more stress from lifting the kayak by the handles. I used a 4.9mm bit for the rivet holes and they fit perfectly. After several trips, I redid the sealant and replaced the screws on the rod holders with watertight rivets. Just felt they'd be more watertight. Added a pad eye near each rod holder for rod leashes, don't put it too close if you're going to use carbineers since clipping them will be more difficult.

I like the kit. Quality looks great for the selling price.I was disappointed with the mounting hardware since the bolts are pretty much too short and doesn't work unless you have access inside your yak to put the nut on the bolt. I was able to use the 6 screws supplied to mount my holders.Luckily I had pop rivets on hand and got the handles mounted . Overall I would recommend buying this set but understand you will need to get pop rivets or longer bolts/nuts to mount the handles.

Very good quality. EZ to attach handles and bonus paddle holder is a nice feature. Rod holders will work well too.Personal preference is NOT to use screws (provided) as they will catch on things. Would suggest stainless steel hardware with locking nut.Ehat was provided eas too short, could not even catch a single thread. Use 1in 1/4" bolts with fender washer inside and locking nuts.

Picked up an Emotion Spitfire 8 on sale. Needed to install handle straps and fishing rod holders in the Kayak. The Spitfire is an entry-level Kayak (barebones) so you will have to add additional accessories. This set was very reasonably priced. After some drilling and cutting, I was able to successfully install the handle straps and rod holders. All of hardware was included made it an easy install. The equipment were good quality and sturdy. Got it all done on budget. Now ready for kayaking the local lakes and rivers.

This is as much a review on the huge discount you get buying this combo vs buying the handles and rod holders separately. The handles were easy to install, I decided to get a rivet gun and aluminum trifold rivets rather than use well nuts to mount all the anchoring points, so far the handles have worked fine getting it up on the roof rack, the rod holders haven't really been tested but the caps have kept water out so far on flat water. If you are like me and needed handles and rod holders there is no reason not to get this combo pack, even if you just want the rod holders the extra handles are almost free, you can replace flimsy bow and stern handles with deck mounted options, or just keep them around as spares.

I purchased pop rivets to install this, as i have a 3/8" hole for internal access. My new clearance Pelican Sit-on-top Bandit 100 NXT worked out great with these.

Could not mount the handles/paddle carriers on my Pelican Trailblazer 100 as the configuration of the kayak's sidewall just wouldn't work. Not 100% universal. Rod holders were easy to mount and secure with rivets.

Works great on my 10 ft pelican trailblazer! I was worried because there was a review that did it would NOT work with the pelican. Seems fine to me! Paddle stays secure, with the paddle holder / handle. The rod holders are perfectly tilted, and it comes with the hardware!
