My pre schooler who really loves dinosaurs and sea creatures loved it. The pop ups are incredible. We look at it together. He’s too rough to go it alone

Sabuda has done it again with another fabulous animal pop-up book. The smaller side pop-ups really add to the fun learning quality of this book. You never know which old prehistoric creature is coming at you next!

I love all of his pop-up creations and have collected them for years. Each one--including Mega-beasts--is amazing AND educational. Draws the interest of children as well as adults.

I got this for my 4 1/2 Godson as part of his Christmas present. He loves it and now wants all of the Robert Sabuda pop-up books!

My 9 year-old son *LOVES* these books. He's normally rough with books but he treasures these and takes great care of them.

Love the book. It came here yesterday-December 27-so we will give it to the Grandson on his birthday in June!

The book was in a pretty bad condition, very worn out, it had name inscripted on the cover and an old spider egg sac between the pages. Yes, you read it correctly – an old spider egg sac, right in the book itself. I’m keeping the book only because I want to give the whole Prehistorica series to my kid as a birthday present, the two other books I bought new and pristine.

I rarely write reviews, but had to for this series. These books are, quite simply, astonishingly good.We have all three books in the series (sharks, dinosaurs and this one). They are all excellent, but this - which I believe was the most recently published - takes it up a notch.All three books are well-made, but the paper pop-ups delicate (as you would expect). However, the designs are incredibly intricate, beautifully coloured and truly mesmerising as they open up.Each main pop-up is on a double-page spread, with snippets of information and often two or more mini pop-up flaps, with smaller, but no less detailed, designs.I think this book is a step above the others in the series - it makes use of different materials (e.g. clear plastic for insect wings) and also has an almost cinematic quality. For example, one smaller pop-up shows the evolution of the horse almost in flip-book style as one opens the flap. The result is a book that is truly wondrous - each design more impressive than the last and leaving you wondering "how did they do that?".I have no real criticism of the books. They're delicate, as mentioned above, but do state that they are suitable for 3+. I'd say that's still a bit too young given the intricacy of the pop-ups, but certainly fine for reading with a parent. Other than that, the books are short, but, given the quality of the content and clear level of time and dedication put into them, I think that can be excused.I highly recommend the series and this book in particular!

My ten year old grand-daughter adores mega beasts, mega buildings..mega-discoveries... This is a wonderful book....the large pop ups are AMAZING...and the smaller ones, which unfold like wee surprise packages are fabulous....lots of info for any mega-beast enthusiast of any age! Seeing is believing....the mammoth is so jaw - droppingly wonderful you will want to buy this for every child you know...it's one to keep, to pass on to the next generation....to say yes the internet and Krindle are great....but look...feel..wonder at this...it's called a book.Would I recommend this YES YES YES.
