Needed wherever kids might be
We moved to the current hose about two years ago, when my youngest was 6YO. I thought that since my kids are not that young, and they are very disciplin, I have no worries.Then, couple of weeks ago few families came to visit, and I notices one of their kids sticking tooth pics into the outlet. This time it ended with no harme, but it could have ended totally different. I have installed these protected outlet in the public areas in our home, just to buy me a peace of mind.Make sure that you instruct the adults at home about it, as it looks almost identical to a regular outlet, and if someone does not know how to plug in, they might be frustrated.

Love the concept and the spring works great on mine-- it opens and closes nicely. However, I live in an older house (1942, original outlets/electrical) and these plates do not line up properly with my outlet (meaning they screw on and look correct, but the actual holes where you insert the plug isn't a match to the actual wall outlet holes. I can still use these plates by angling the plug down, but then I don't have a nice flat look when things are plugged in, if that makes sense. Also, if you have a plug that has a specific order to it, i.e. one tong opening is wider on one side than the other tong, this also isn't a match. I can no longer plug my vacuum in because the plate has an opposite tong configuration than the wall outlet does. Super hard to explain, sorry! I am still using them, but they definitely aren't perfect. I'm sure they are better if you live in a newer home....

Great product
Great safety outlets! I highly recommend using these. They are strong, sturdy, hold any plug we plug in.The lost star is because I was limited to buying 1 box per order and in order to replace all of the outlet covers in the house we needed more than one box of 3!! They are lucky I had Prime and didn’t have to pay shipping otherwise they would’ve lost a customer...Note:These fit great on “current” outlets. Our house was built in the 80s and in some rooms had the original outlets. In these rooms the screws that came with these outlet covers were not the right size but once we replaced the outlets too all was well.

Works exactly as advertised
These are working pretty well right away. My kid can't push the cover aside.As a bonus my walls are old plaster walls and not all the outlet sit flush, but because there's somewhat of a small profile to the plate it covers up the unevenness.

UP The Secutity For Your Baby
I purchased these socket covers to make it more safe for my grandbaby. I was using the little plastic push in tabs that you push into sockets. But I saw her trying to work one of those and out. She's such a little engineer !!! With these particular socket covers you actually have to push the slide to the left to use your socket, which makes it nearly impossible for a toddler to get to it. I am so glad I purchased these !!

Great for child proofing!
These are perfect for covering the outlets in my house which was built in 1974. We're using these everywhere we have something plugged in so if our son pulls the cord out of the wall the light socket will still be covered. I just wish they had boxes with more than 3.

Chemical offgassing! Do Not buy!
Horrible smell of plastic chemical off gassing. I left it outside for a week and I can still smell it from a foot away. I would not use this in a child's room.
