More energy than I need
Having been told by several personal trainers that it is impossible to obtain all the necessary nutrients (especially protein) from a vegan diet, I eagerly anticipated the publishing of this book. Some of the pluses of this book include:-balanced nutrition-yummy food-increased energy-info on what pre- and post-exercise foods to eat depending on your level of exercise-info on food allergies and digestionOne big but: some of the food has a LOT of calories, and the recipes do not indicate how many there are. I included many of these recipes in my diet and actually gained weight. I'm training for a marathon and some of these high calorie meals are great for consumption after a long run, but not for daily use. The serving sizes should be halved in most cases, like the 600-calorie serving of recovery pudding and 700-calorie burgers.

You will thrive...
Brazier's is a well-written informative book. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding (in this case a delicious banana recovery pudding). I have gradually been working the the thrive diet principles(and recipes) into my daily diet and have seen noticeable improvements in a matter of weeks. I am consuming a fraction of the tofu and other soy products than I used to, feel less hungry in general, and have seen a significant reduction in cravings for sweet processed sugary foods. Most of the recipes I have tried are surprisingly delicious.I would give the book 4 and a half stars if I could. The only small quibbles I have is that:- the recipes are not that well organized, and it can be frustrating to find the section you need,-some of the quantities in the recipes need to be double-checked or adjusted (eg. tsp vs tbsp.),-guidelines on adjusting the diet for those who are less athletically inclined are lacking-this diet seem to be vary high in nuts/oils and heavy on the omega fatty acids.Overall, though, these are minor issue and I strongly recommend it to everyone who want so improves their well-being.

This is my 2nd copy of the book!
Great book and the book was delivered on time and the packaging protected the book during shipping. I left my first copy with a friend and had to buy it again. The book has a lot of good information and provides recipes to help you change your eating habits. This is not a quick fix and requires effort to change the way you prepare meals, but the effort is worth it for your long term health.

Solid book
Solid book. It aligns well with things I've read in many other places. Personally, I like that it was so straightforward, but beware if you're looking more for the science behind these claims, it's best to get this from the other books

Healthy!
I didn't realize this was quite as vegetarian as it is, but it is still a great read and a wonderful diet. And that's coming from a carnivore. :)

Not for me
This book appears very comprehensive however I was looking for a plant based diet plan which this book does have but the plan is purely for people familiar with exercise which unfortunately is not me.

A comprehensive guide to vegetarianism and veganism
I bought this book because I was curious about how an athlete would thrive with a plant based diet. It has a ton of recipes and most use regular ingredients, the kind you'll find at a random supermarket. Of course there are some which are a bit more special. All in all it gives you the why, the what and the how to become and thrive as a vegan athlete (and even as a regular semi-active person). I'd recommend for the health enthusiast and vegetarian/vegan curious.

I went into this book as I knew a lot about nutrition, but after reading it I was surprised. You learn so much more than you know. I recommend this book above every other equivalent!!!

After reading other books of Brendan's I bought this one. I found it informative and useful. I would like to see some pictures and maybe some step by step guide specifically for making sport bars, etc. It would be useful if it had pictures of all grains, seeds etc Some of them are not very common. You just need to google them:-) I love THRIVE books.
