Bed|StuWomen’s Orchid Leather Bag

This bag is gorgeous, well made and exactly what was advertised. It should smell like the good leather it is made of, but there is a huge problem - the interior has a terrible chemical aroma, it's really strong and unpleasant, almost eye-watering when in an enclosed space. I put the wide open bag outside to hang under the pergola in the fresh air and 24 hours later, it still stinks like chemical. I can't use it like this and hope the smell goes away soon. I've got lots of leather bags, shoes and boots and they all smell like good leather. What's up with this chemical smell? UPDATE 2 days later - I had put an Arm & Hammer Odor Absorber inside the open bag that is still hanging open outside. The nasty smell has dissipated somewhat but it's still there. I am hoping a couple more days outside will get rid of it completely. I did a lot of reading and the chemical is likely what the leather was treated with.... But I just want to use the beautiful damn handbag and have it smell like actual leather, or not smell at all!

This is a gorgeous bag, worthy of 5 stars. I waited for the price to drop (from the original list of 450) and while 'still' pricey at less than half that amount - it is a beauty. I ordered the rustic taupe - and was also looking at the light gray color - but glad I went with the taupe. It has a lot of 'gray' in the color, which is what I was hoping for. It has more richness to the color than the light gray. This is not a 'light' bag - it does have some weight to it - but not as heavy as I expected. The strap is thick, which looks balanced with the size of the bag. This is a larger bag than any of my other crossbody bags, which I'm a little concerned about, because I will use it as a crossbody. I need more room than I have in my current bags so hopefully I will adapt. I suspect this will last a long time & will be very useful - making the price I paid worthwhile.

I absolutely LOVE this bag!!! I even got a bigger, intricately embroidered strap to change out when I want to change it up a little. One of the brads on the side of the bag had come loose but I just took it to a shoe repair place & they did it onsite & the guy didn’t even charge me anything!

I've been a Bed Stu fan for about five years and this may be my favorite purchase yet! The leather is always quality, the gray color is gorgeous and the bag is so well made. It stands by itself when filled and is easily carried by the handles at the top of the bag or as a cross-body which is how I typically use it. It's been all over the place with me this summer and has shown no signs of deterioration. My only complaint is the bottom weave of the bag sometimes catches on random thin objects. As the weave is loose, it leaves an opening for this to occur.

I absolutely love this purse except for one detail.....it leaves black marks on my clothing. Some wash out with laundering but some do not. If not for the color transfer to my clothes then I would rate it 5 stars. I love the size and design. I am currently looking for a replacement strap...one that will not leave black markings on my clothes, especially my white denim jacket.

Love! The color is nice and rich and this bag has a very boho/70's vibe that's right up my alley. Great size and I love the versatility of the removable strap, works well with jeans as a crossbody or with a dress as a handbag. The leather is great quality that I suspect will get nicely weathered with use. A little more than I'd usually spend on a bag, but given that I expect to get tons of use over many years, totally worth it.
