Despite clearly tamarind taste, this one irritates mouth and stomach and even windpipe... are we using it wrong? How diluted should it be to be safe?

Despite how it's packaged, this is actually tamarind concentrate. I purchased it for some Thai recipes that called specifically for tamarind paste and I found this stuff to be way overwhelming when used in the amounts that the recipes dictated (and I'm a person who loves sour things generally) I found it much more manageable when I put in half of what the recipe called for. I did eventually find actual tamarind paste at my local international food store, it comes in a little brick, much like chopped dates.

What is the expiration date on this?

Can I put hot water and drink this like tea?

If you like the flavor, then yes.

Manufacturer (Consumers please don't guess/ give opinions), could you please share the heavy metals testing reports transparently (was it 0% lead?)?

Where I came from; we use tamarind in most of the food. I am taking it since childhood, never had problem. I understand that recently the search on Tamarind shows heavy metals in its skin, and also it said: "Tamarind's acidic contents may cause digestive issues and corrode tooth enamel. " I use it with Okra Stew, and never gave me problem in digestive. Perhaps, since Okra is good for people with stomach problem, mixing it with Tamarind makes it easy to digest.
