Heat Deflector/Drip pan for Akorn Kamado Jr. Charcoal Grill

Fits perfectly in my Acorn jr. Works great.

Background info: I've owned Asolo hiking boots and shoes for years. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. I still wear my Asolo footwear occasionally after years of use. But, when it came time to buy new hiking boots / shoes, this time I decided to try a pair of Solomon hiking shoes. I'm a simple guy, so when it comes down to what's most important to me, I boiled it down to a few simple things: cost, fit, durability, and looks.I've had these shoes for a week now and have put on 30 miles or so. Initially, they felt a bit snug. But, now the fit is perfect. These are really comfortable shoes. I bought the black ones with hopes that I could get by wearing them while at work in the office, lol ... so far, so good. To me, these are really nice looking shoes. Note: the soles are really thick. So, when wearing these shoes, it appears that i'm a bit taller than I really am which is sort of cool.The cost seems very reasonable, especially when I compare the quality of these shoes to others I've seen in the retail stores!So, the only thing i'm left wondering about is the durability. I'm hoping to get at least 1,000 miles out of these shoes which, at this point, appears to be a reasonable expectation.

I had to spend way too much time removing the label. It didn’t just peel off. I had to scrape and scrape and scrape some more and the adhesive would not come off until I wiped it down with alcohol.Otherwise it seems to be exactly what I ordered. I don’t understand why the heat deflector isn’t part of the akornJr grill as it seems to be extremely necessary in using a kamado grill

Very nice add on. Wish it was available last year. My stone developed a crack so now I just inserted this steel and laid the stone on top. I was afraid to use the stone as a surface to cook on, but now with this steel under it I dont have to worry about it collapsing. It gives me a second layer to cook on . Im able to fit a cast iron pan covered with aluminum foil between the shield and cooking grate. On slow cooks I can use that area as a crock pot and sti have the top half of the grill for anything else. See pic. Theres a Turkey on top and a covered pan under it that I cooked a whole other meal in.

Nicely made. Makes smoking meat easy easy. Fits perfectly in the Char Griller Akorn jr.. works excellent!!! Smokey Smokey meat. ( Any metal you put in a bbq will rust over time. )

This has made it easier cook at higher heat in the grill. I like to grill steak to rare at 500 degrees F. and the Akorn Jr's small size puts the fire pretty close to the grate, giving a very narrow margin of error. This blocks the flames but lets the heat come though. It also keeps drippings out of the fire.With this in place, the grill cooks more like my full-size Kamodo Joe.Great addition.

Purchased for my Akorn junior. Exactly as described and disperses heat well.
