I bought mine I figure it would be perfect it was over 100.00 mine was..before I even had mine up..I was impressed by what I read in its features and was what I was looking for..I bought two more for a friend ..used refurbished though..This is the second d major time when I really need the camera it just will not get back on no matter what you do..the first time it was out it was for two months till I finally was able to get to the propert..get out a ladder and get up there to redo it that too a few hrs..Now it's doing it again.. I have hip issue I was NOT expecting so many problems and in the area I live its important they work so now I have to put up back up cameras for these..the other two have never been installed yet because having soo many problems with it..when it works. It works..but always seem to break on a update or when I need it the most..odd...Those two photos us exactly what happened last time unless you go pull it down again and reset it...it will stay that way...the cheaper cameras work perfect with a hitch.. ezviz....

This product itself is great, but to enjoy “Intelligent Detection “features ( that used to be free) you have to purchase a monthly “Elite Cloud Service”. A fully featured inclusive product is what a homeowner wants, not a nickel and dime featured product. If you don’t set the free “Specify Detection Area”to a small spot you will get continuous alarms all day. When I originally bought this camera the smart detection features were included. Now after the purchase they’ve changed the format…low blow. My last Foscam!

I have 9 of these running here. Now i have had my shgare of problems, but you will do that when you use this many of any item. THe phone apps are great. The windows software leaves a lot to be desired and they need to make that work better for those of us who use these all the time. Foscam has always been very responsive if i needed to contact them directly. And I probably will very soon and see about thier software. But for the price, these are darn good powerful camera.UPDATEAsyou can see from he photos one of these has devbeloped a major issue. Now we did not have any excessive weather and I am not sure how long this camera had been in service. However there was no excuse for this happening. As usual I did contact Foscam directly and they were almost helpful. Of couse nothing is ever the manufactures fault. And in order to get anywhere you need a reciept for purchase of this item. Well i have over 15 reciepts and no idea which one was what so I just told them not to worry. I was done with them. I would simply install more ptz wired cameras from Lorex. I have several and some of them are 7 years old and still work just fine. Yes they cost more at first but when you figure out the life span they are cheaper and there is no wifi involved and a lot leess maintenance. So if anyone is looking for a camera with a long lifespan. I can not reccomend these.
