Much better than Tumi
Thoughtful design, rugged construction. Lifetime guarantee a big plus. Replaces a Tumi bag that has a "lifetime" guarantee that they did not honor (don't have the parts!) Nor did Tum respond to a Better Business Bureau complaint (where Tumi has an F rating).

Underrated brand
I worked at a travel store for many years and will not buy any other brand. It has a higher price point than some brands, however it's well worth it.

Buy 2 Rimowa’s or 1 of these
I have flown for business for the last 20 years or more. I was a Rimowa guy for the longest time (my carry on and family suitcases were all Rimowa) until…My Rimowa case broke, the shell cracked and the response was to buy a new one. So I did and the new one lasted a few years until the handle broke, they did send a replacement but shortly after, that broke too along with the shell. Now there was certainly a trip or 2 that was over-packed but 98 trips out of 100 the bag was with me and the other 2 it was a gate check and returned at the gate. With the Briggs and Riley none of that matters the warranty is the simple reason I bought this bag but I love it for lots of other reasons. It feels like the highest quality throughout, the wheels, materials, HANDLE !The flexibility with outside pockets and the expanderThe overall look of the caseIt fits just about every overhead bin unless you overpack itIf you’re a business traveler this suitcase should be on your list, I don’t envisage needing to buy another bag probably ever but certainly not before I retire 10-15 years from now. I had a colleague that spent $100 to $150 on his bag, every 12-18 months he had to replace it, broken parts, rips you name it. He’s spent more on bags than I have at this point and my B&R looks almost new! It’s an investment but once you’ve made it I guarantee you’ll look back proudly at your decision

European carry on size, but watch the weight!
I got this to replace a carry on bag that I use for US domestic travel. The old bag was a little too thick to fit in the test cage they use at the gate and I was always having to gate check it (it even got delayed one time from a gate check in Spain-thanks United). So this bag fits the maximum dimensions for European carryon bags, but be careful! You can quickly go overweight! The max carryon weight is 8kg (17.6 lbs). For my 2 week trip to Europe, the lightest I got was 12kg so I ended up checking the bag anyway. If you plan to carryon, maybe get a smaller bag so you are forced to leave stuff behind. If you know you are going to check your bag, get a larger one so you can take everything. Thus one gives you the option to lack light and have room to pick up souvenirs, but I didn't have the packing discipline and defeated the purpose of getting it.On the plus side, it rolls well and it seems to be well built. The zippers work smoothly and the expansion option really gives you a lot more room if you're checking it.On the down side, and the reason I took off 1 star is on the first flight with it, the button for the extension handle must have been bumped by the luggage handlers. It's now permanently deformed and at first was even stuck and couldn't release the handle. I eventually got the button working but it's still messed up (see pic) and doesn't give me a lot of confidence in it's long term durability. Luckily the bag claims to have a lifetime warranty so I'll be testing that out when I get back. Just bad luck I hope, but really, what are the odds that it would get messed up on the 1st leg of the first trip with it. Rough baggage handlers at SFO or IST (Istanbul)? One last item... I wish it had a secure pocket for an airtag. I have started using these for all our bags when we travel. I can't tell you how many times the airlines have sent my bags to the wrong destinations, sometimes comically bad! One time I went to Spain/Madrid. My bag went to Buenos Aires. Another time I went to Zurich Switzerland, my bag went to Hawaii. There should be a law that you get a round trip to where ever the airlines send your bag! Anyway, a small airtag pocket would be really appreciated so you could keep the airtag secure and be able to see where in the world your bag went.

350k Miles So Far and going strong
I’ve got about 350,000 miles on mine. It’s unreal the quality of this bag. I chuck it, squish it, drop it, slide it. It goes everywhere. I’ve sent it in for service once, what a great experience. Sent in for an internal screw problem and ended up getting the whole bag rebuilt without asking. New frame, wheels, etc. This is the best service out there. If you don’t want a spinner, this is the bag to get. It fits a ton of stuff. About to buy another for wife, but she wants the spinners. I prefer no spinners. You can’t sit on a bag with 4 wheels but you sure can sit on one with 2 wheels as a mobile seat. Not saying you should, but I do. Works great. Make sure you got a lot of stuff in it though, or you’ll fall over.

Amazing Bag But Too Heavy
I've wanted to own this bag forever. It's made by one of the best companies around, known for quality products that are backed up for life. But mostly, I wanted a shorter, wider bag where the handle fits on the outside (leaving more room on the inside.)It IS beautifully made, with high quality materials and every feature you'd want. I think one could plan on owning this bag for life, somewhat justifying the high price tag. But it weighs 10 pounds, almost double similar models. I understand that high quality materials meant to last a lifetime will tend to result in a heavier bag, but I just can't afford the extra weight in a carry on. I sadly had to return it for this reason.
