This is a coffee table book that I have on display. You can read it from front to cover, but shouldn’t, in order to absorb each thought. Or, collection of thoughts. One of my friends teenage daughters was visiting, started perusing the book, and teared up. She said the book made her feel understood, and that the quotes, “motivated” her. A great collection.

A collection of "pearls of wisdom" -- guidance of the type well worth having in a family library. I agree with the author on his point about preferring concise writing: tell me the condensed version, the bottom line. Wading through 500-page tomes to get to the point discourages the habit of reading for many. Although it's understandable wanting to opt for variety, and many quote books do this, I'd have preferred this entire book printed in the same size and style of type, since that format would have simplified my ability to emphasize the material that stands out for me -- which is the purpose of owning a book, and the reason I never buy a book that has already been marked. That having been said, I recommend this purchase.

This book of quotes from Russ Kick is a perfect little addition to his own library of texts either written by himself or in collaboration with many other writers who work with him at Disinformation, a group he founded. The quotes themselves are good ones, the chapter-by-subject formatting is also good, Russ' little introduction to the book itself and each chapter of quotes give you a good idea of the man himself, and overall this is a good book to pass the time with. - JBD
