Designed especially for chicken coops. The chicken coop door is depicted as vertical, however, if desired, the door will work horizontally as well. Advanced Chicken Coop Door Kit with Actuator: 1.) 2 rails (anodized aluminum channel rail), 24” long each 2.) Sliding door (high strength, weather-proof fiberglass with ultra-smooth finish), 13” x 10”. 3.) Linear actuator (sized for this specific door configuration), 300mm stroke 4.) Power supply (12VDC) 5.) Power cord adapter (to connect power supply to actuator) 6.) Mounting hardware Please note: A controller is not included for the Advanced Kit. The buyer is responsible for determining how to activate the actuator. For example, whether to use a manual switch, timers, power relay, etc. The device used to operate the door must be able to switch the polarity to the actuator to open and close it. There are many ideas online showing how to do this. Red Wall Panel not included

Wiring advice
You need 1 12v DPDT (Dual Pole / Dual Throw) Relay, one timer and one 12v power supply (already supplied) for this to work.Relay is ~$8 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017LB4AZ6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Hopefully, this crude wiring diagram in the picture attached will help someone. And yes I know I spelled actuator wrong on the picture but, I didn't feel like taking another picture.Relay terms: The Poles are the unmoveable points. The throw is the contacts that move. And the coil is what energized the relay to move the throws.

1 star. The door works... but ...
1 star. The door works...but u have to be a wiring wiz...if u want it to close and open. Buyer beware. U have to use 2 timers and a relay switch to reverse polarity for it to close. They should tell u that in the ad. I.ve had mine for a month...still havnt figuired out the correct wiring. Grrr

Works perfectly. Must have limit switches built in.
Wired in to a solar cell https://www.amazon.com/ECO-WORTHY-IP65-Solar-Panel-Polycrystalline/dp/B00PFGP0EA/ref=sr_1_12_sspa?crid=19349K9RBFYN3&dchild=1&keywords=eco-worthy+solar+panel&qid=1595364379&sprefix=eco-wort%2Caps%2C199&sr=8-12-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExSDJLVE1SM0QxTjNWJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUExMDA5NDYxNVBURFdEWjFCU0tJJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA3NjU1NzRRMVA1UDRTNURQWEUmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl and battery with a Alexa wireless control https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GTKHCST/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 now it closes at sunset and opens at sunrise and I can operate from my phone. Alexa still won't control it.

Extender Arm
The extender in the cylinder shakes and looks flimsy.Love the function of the door though.Gonna buy another. I have three chicken coops. Needed this on two. This order took care of one. Thank you. Haven’t lost a chicken since. At least not yet.

It takes time building it.
It’s not bad but for the price could come down and with a electric timer you don’t have to get up at early anymore .

Won't function without a timer
I ordered two of these kits, one with a timer and one without. I am reviewing the one without. I did not realize that you could not power the actuator for the door without the timer, or another form of power that I would have no idea how to find. So, I like the door very much. It works perfectly for the chicken coop I have now that I snitched the timer from the other kit. (I will have to order another timer for my other kit.) I would recommend this automatic coop door operator.

opens and closes like expected.
Have only used it for a couple of weeks, opens and closes like expected.

Great product. The limit switch is genius.
Works great. Just reverse polarity with a relay. Get the right stuff and you can do this incredibly cheap.
