eight volumes of this definitive work at such a low price is almost unbelievable

This is the 8 volume 1986 reprint of the 1910 Dent edition by the Folio Society......It arrived well packed in Arrived under the estimated shipping time....Unlike the picture The spines are maroon with gold print...each book in it's own card slipcase...not just the 2 slip cases shown in the picture...they are in excellent shape..likely never read...there is a large dark mark on the first page of the first volume left by a lovely leather bookmark that remains in place....Each book has a table of contents and an index together perhaps 20 - 25 illustrations....they each have about 375 pages using a small font...However there are NO footnotes....this is very disappointing ...I may well purchase different edition of this work in the future....Ted Strange, retired Barrister, Toronto
