Lost Boys [4K Ultra HD]

Aside from it being a great movie, the 4K UHD Remaster is brilliant. I'm always a little reticent to buy 4k discs of old movies cos to be frank, the price difference between a standard Blu-ray disk and a 4k disc is considerable but this one is well worth the cash. The sound is brilliant, especially important when part of the charm of this movie is the great soundtrack, definitely one to crack the volume up on. The picture quality is also very good. No it's not as 'refined' as a modern movie shot in 4k, or indeed something like star wars 4,5 & 6 that had the premium treatment, but it's not overly grainy like the 4k edition of Predator. Pictures are smooth, clean and crisp and a joy to watch. Worth adding that I'm reviewing this on a LG 77" OLED so this does make the remaster quality more critical. TLDR: A great example of 4k remastering.

There was an old DVD remaster of this film that looked so good that I thought it must have been a blu-ray. This 4K disc is not that huge a step up from the blu-ray but it is a very definite improvement. Think subtle improvements more than glaringly obvious. This is a classic bit of 80s popcorn cinema and this version of it does an excellent job of reproducing the film the best it has ever looked. It's just not a huge difference.

up there with the best 4k transfers I've seen Even my wife who gets massively bored with me banging on about the quality of 4k said this looks like it was filmed yesterday. Cannot recommend enough for a film that's pretty much 40 years old.

An amazing film with great picture quality and fantastic sound. The audio was clear and if you have seen this film score then it’s certainly worth upgrading to 4k.

A must have for any physical movie collector

this is an Excellent 4k upgrade The film is an 80s classic imo and the 4k disc gives is a new lease of life, great detail in the picture, black levels and colours pop, there is a fine level of grain, i think they have done a superb job with the 4k remaster on this one, The cover art is abysmal though!!! This came with a slipcover at time of order 16/11/22

Disappointed that it wasn’t the Steelbook but it still coming in the two formats as promised is a good thing to have nonetheless for this cult classic

Leider ist zwar angegeben, dass der Film mit deutscher Sprache & deutschen Untertiteln ausgestattet sein soll. Aus der Sprache auf dem DVD-Cover lässt sich das aber nicht ersehen. Der Artikel ist am 26.11. bestellt worden und kann laut Auskunft des Verkäufers nur bis zum 28.11. umgestauscht werden – das ist so gar kein kundenorientierter Service und widerspricht vllt. sogar geltender Rechtssprechung. Es bleibt also nur die DVD zu öffnen und zu hoffen, dass der Film tatsächlich mit deutscher Sprache ausgestattet ist. Insgesamt eine sehr enttäuschende Kauferfahrung.

Product not a steelbook 4k item is only normal 4k. Not happy
