Have to make it.
I must have not read the description because this is not one you just put together, you have to make it. Haven't done it yet but the instructions are pretty clear. It's still a good buy. It brings everything needed except water.

Awesome Christmas Gift
I bought a few of these as gifts for some of my younger cousins (9 & 11). When they opened the gift, they were not impressed. But when they got home and opened the kit, I am told they were hooked. They didn't want to do anything else until they finished it. And they proudly display the finished products on their book shelves. 18 inches is not very big. So it will take some patience and effort to handle the details for younger kids. But it is worth it. They learned a lot about the human anatomy and had fun doing it.

Not for keeping anyone busy
You mix the plaster, put it in the mold, wait and it hardens - that was the coolest part, the rest? EH, as my son said "This is boring mom." I was looking for a wooden skeleton that he would have to put together, I thought this plaster one would be even cooler, I WAS WRONG... I do not recommend for OLDER children. If you have a preschooler then get this it is GREAT - with parental supervision. Also the magnets they supply to supposedly "put the skeleton together" did NOT work at all - they are not strong enough and just do NOT stick that well to the plaster.

Great!
Great "hands on" project for homeschooling kids!

Worst thing I ever got thru Amazon
The picture on the box would lead you to think that you would be getting a skeleton, with separate bones for each digit of the hand, etc. In reality, it was a bag of plaster and some molds. The molds were not for individual bones, but for a whole hand as a blob with some bone-looking detail on top. Same for the head, feet, and other parts of the body. What a scam!

Not at all what I was expecting. It's not ...
Not at all what I was expecting. It's not a "perfect-cast". Its a tiny, cheap-cast that mildly resembles a human skeleton. I was planning on using this as an extension project for my son's biology class, but it didn't even come close. Maybe for elementary school?
