This is an excellent book for the beginning painter and I enjoyed all the exercises. Great step by step instructions and my paintings turned out better than I expected. I wish the author had more books like this. I would buy them all.

I’m working my way through the book by painting each exercise as detailed. She is very clear and precise. I just finished my first painting and I am delighted with the outcome. I’m a beginner struggling with how to show 3D (dimension). This book is working wonders in teaching technique. I wish she had additional books so I can continue the learning process! I’ve watched several tutorials from other talented artists, and I must say that her technique—clear and precise— has work best with me.

This book has a very good introduction and great exercises. I worked through all the exercises and felt my painting skills greatly improved by the end. Learning a new skill or hobby can be frustrating at times, but by the end of this book I was really enjoying myself.

When I saw this book, I purchased it not only to support her, but because I knew there would be tips that would help me in my own journey. It’s full of great lessons and tips. If you’re an advanced oil painter, you probably don’t need this book. If you’re a beginner or intermediate level painter, you’ll enjoy what this book has to offer.

I am new to oil and besides color theory and knowing when to do what, this book gives you a step by step process that you can use and craft your own. Less frustration.I am surprised at the amount of white used, yet still it is filled with lots of possibilities. I find that the small format you can do and feel confident.I think this book is great for beginners and those that want to refresh skills.It arrived on time, great packaging and the pages make it without fold overs.Thank you!
