Best Gluten/Egg free food you will ever eat.
I read a lot of reviews prior to making a purchase and have given a lot of thought to what I would like to say about this amazing CookBook. First of all I pre-ordered it before it came on sale so there were no reviews to read about it. I had followed Lexi's blog and found many delicious items there.I am in my 60's have cooked and baked my entire life, I come from a long line of world class bakers.Upon my doctors advice I went gluten free four years ago, also I am allergic to eggs, which thencomplicates the cooking and especially baking process.I do all my cooking and baking from scratch, here was my problem. First of all I had to learn to bake all over again, and failure and failure, then when it did turn out, well it tasted "not normal".Up until this cookbook I had not purchased one cookbook, to me there were enough recipes out there I could find on my own but could not find many that also contained no eggs. Yes I have used egg substitutes but that does alter the recipe yet again having to "substitute" from the original recipe.I came upon the Chicken Pot Pie recipe on Lexi's blog and tried it. That literally changed my world along with my most happy tastebuds. Not only was the recipe simply amazing, it was as if I had ordered a five star meal and sat down to eat it. The flavors were "wow" and it was actual "real food". My husband who does not eat gluten free also said it was one of the best he had ever eaten. When my cook book finally arrived I have made it my mission to make every single recipe in it.We had the Biscuits the other night and it was the first time in four years I felt like and it tasted like I was eating a normal biscuit...light and fluffy and great flavor, not gritty or some of the usual things that happen with gluten/egg free baking. This is the only cookbook for gluten free/egg free eating I have purchased and I do believe its the bestpurchase I have ever made in the cookbook area...Do yourself a favor and buy this for yourself. You will thank your lucky stars you did and you will find there is joy and flavor in eating again....Alexa is a gifted talented woman and I for one am glad she wrote this book so our lives can not only be tastier but also healthier....Simply a GREAT book...

It's okay - kudos for tackling tough food allergies
I was recently diagnosed with egg and dairy allergies. I thought this book would be great but the recipes are slightly more complicated than I would prefer. It also contains a lot of baked goods, which are not ideal for weight loss/maintenance (I recognize that this is not the purpose of the book but if you are interested in weight loss, I don't think these recipes would be as helpful). I do want to commend the author for taking on difficult food allergies and her story about her son was very compelling.

Outstanding Cookbook for Those Who are Gluten Free and "More Free"
This cookbook is small in size, about 8 inches square and less than 1/2 an inch thick, but don’t let that fool you. It is packed with good stuff! And its size makes it a cinch to throw in your purse or tote bag and take along to the kids’ soccer game or to the grocery store or health food store. I loved the recipes in this cookbook, including the fact that their allergen-free status was clearly shown in an allergen chart showing nine different allergens. There's a beautiful photo to go with every recipe, but it’s not all about prettiness with Everyday Classics, I actually use and treasure this cookbook. And there are actually a good number of recipes (e.g., Tortillas, Loaf ‘O Bread, Chicken Pot Pie, Flourless Chocolate Cake) that by themselves alone would be reason to purchase this cookbook! While those recipes might not seem unique or special on the surface, when you have to remove so many allergens, re-creating delicious versions of them can be a challenge to say the least. Thankfully, we don't have to do that as Alexa Croft has done all the hard work for us already! In closing, I just thoroughly appreciate this cookbook and would highly recommend it to anyone who is gluten free and "more-free"!

Thank gdodness for this cookbook
I have issues with dairy, egg, soy and peanuts. The main thing I like about this cookbook is that it explains ingredients I may not have been aware of. For example, this explains which oils heat to which temperatures. I've expanded the ingredients in my pantry and I find I'm more effective in cooking even outside the recipes the book contains. The recipes are good excellent and crowd pleasers. My 5 year old loves the food. My husband still thinks its not as good as the real stuff, but he actually eats it without making faces. His expectations of food are that they contain sugar, salt and fat - but no additional processing - so this is a VERY high rating for him. I think he likes it because everything is chemical and processed food free, and it is not low fat. The sugar and salt factor is not as high as he typically likes.

This is not for everyone
Unfortunately this author uses many seed and nut substitutes which typically cannot be used with by a person with colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease. I wish I had the opportunity to read this book before purchase but for now I will just get recipes from the internet and print them. This book will go out to my next garage sale.

For those near organic stores
I have given this 3 stars because many of the ingredients that are within the recipes of this book do have to be made from scratch too. I don't have time to make my own flour- yes I will substitute but it is disappointing when you don't live near an organic store (we live in a rural-ish area and I'm not driving (yet)). I think this is aimed at people who either live in a city, have a local organic store or that can order ingredients off the internet (I did try this but you would have to buy in bulk to make it worth your while and I have a tiny kitchen)

Geat FreeFrom Cookbook
For anyone who has food intolerances (in my case gluten, dairy and egg) this is a must have cookbook. It has recipes for all the foods you love but not been able to have. Just made some pancakes and they were delicious! There are certain ingredients that we not readily available but I was able to get most of the essentials from Holland and Barretts.
