3pk 1" x 55 yd GECKO Blue Painters Tape 14 Day Clean Release Trim Edge Finishing Masking Tape (.94 IN 24MM) (3Pack) GECKO Tape

I purchased this tape purely because of sticker shock at the big box retailer. Trying to do any home improvement on a budget seems impossible now with major brands keeping prices higher just to hold onto huge margins. Come on, $6+ for a roll of tape?! Anyway I was willing to take a risk and here is my review:I ordered the 1" 3 pack of blue painters tape. The pack arrived in fine condition, no extra packaging other than the Amazon box and shrink wrap to hold the rolls together.It feels very sticky to the touch and the paper material is fairly sturdy. I will say that yes this feels slightly thinner than the $6-7 per roll stuff at the big box store but it holds just fine, tears just fine and is cheaper.I took extra care once I applied the tape to then run my thumb on the 'to-be' painted side. Normally I let the paint dry almost all the way. For me this gave the same experience I expect when I overpay for expensive brand stuff.

The tape seems fine. Its the packaging that leaves a lot to be desired. Since the 3 pack is shrink wrapped just on the faces, the sides are unprotected, so you have 2 rolls per pack that have contaminated edges. Not good for auto work, or for dust sensitive projects. There is a reason that 3M wraps the sides of its blue tape.

I'm looking to paint a couple rooms in my house and this tape was a lot cheaper than the 3M branded tapes at my local Home Depot. I liked the price of this tape and gave it a shot. I have NEVER before had such clean lines than I have using this tape. It adhered flawlessly and removed cleanly after 48 hours of paint drying. I could not be happier with my purchas.
