I got this coolcoat for my pug, who is adversly affected by the slightest sunny day. She's had cool coats of differing types for the past few years. As she has got older she is less tolerant of the heat. I can't use the one we bought last year as she has developed degenerative disc disease so I have to be careful to ensure that anything, clothing wise, doesn't have to go over her head, so this fits the bill there. It is effective in reflecting the sun back, which is good. However, the main issue is how the water is or isn't retained in the coat. Once the coat is prepared as instructed, it drips, even when wrung out to the max. Ok, that helps keep her cool. But, the water evapourates very quickly, so even on the short walks of 15-30mins that she takes now she's older and with this condition, the main body of the coat is dried out. So I think the material used to soak up water isn't thick enough to do the job it needs to do effectively. For what I need it to do, it's adequate, but if you're looking for a longer lasting product, I'd advise one that uses water retaining gel.

Bought for my "tweenie" Dachshund and fits her very well. She has been wearing it on our holiday, as the temperature is in the 20's and is keeping her cool.

Great for the few hot days we have had in the UK. When out walking just take a bottle of water to keep it topped up. Does what it says on the label keeps cool on the inside.
