I put it at the top of the cylinder and it did not work. Once I saw the pictures, I realized it had to go at the bottom. I could tell the difference as soon as I sat on the chair and have not sunk since! Easy to put on. Very happy :)

Fed up with replacing office chairs when the struts go?I decided to try these and they are great. Brackets were easy to fit to my chair and have been in place for a week or so now. There is no unwanted movement in the height of my chair.

This has secured my chair and saved me having to buy a new office chair. I was a little dubious as to whether it would hold the chair in place without breaking the plastic and metal clamps. It has held it very well. My office chair was in good shape until it kept sinking. Now it is great with this product.

I ordered these and weas hoping they would be a great alternative to a new gas cylinder. However, after a few days the rubber protectors slipped and the clamps made the chair rock back and forth damaging the plastic cylinder cover on the chair. Disappointing!

Very grateful as these sorted the problem I had with the chair sliding down. Easy to install, no problems - 3 months in and still all good.

Started sliding and the silicon liner on the inside ended up tearing which the metal clamps scratched the base of the chair.

Was fed up of constant sinking chairs. Got this instead of buying a 3rd office chair in as many years and sorted it out straight away.You can’t change the height but that is fine as it’s for my desk and don’t need different heights.Cheaper than a new chair!!

The clamp is sturdy and well built. Extremely easy to install.It saved me from buying a new chair. Highly recommend.

I've used these on a couple of old secretary's chairs I use in my craft room in the basement. They are old and I weight a lot more that their designed support weight. As a result, when I sat on them within minutes they the height piston gave up and sunk to the bottom of its travel.After putting these on the pistons, the chairs now support me at the height I am comfortable with. It took a while to get the one chair right as I did not have the clamp on tight enough. You really need to reef on the bolts to get them tight enough, but they have been working great for four months now.In case you had not realized it, these clamps fix the chair height at one position. You will loose the up and down adjustment of the chair.

J'avais une chaise qui descend toute seul à cause du vérin usé, je pensait changer le vérin, malheureusement il est complètement coincé dans la chaise, impossible de le retirer sans détruire la chaise malgré les astuces vues sur le net pour le retirer.A défaut de changer le vérin, j'ai décidé de condamner la chaise à une hauteur définie et j'ai donc acheté ces fixations.Facile à installer à la base du vérin (pensez bien à serrer au max sinon ça peut descendre => serrez encore plus).La chaise ne bouge plus depuis, il reste possible de tourner à 360° sur la chaise.un seul suffit, donc il en reste un pour réparer une autre chaise.

Fait parfaitement le taf !
