Really small cadence AND cheaper than Wahoo Cadence
I bought a Powr Labs heart rate monitor chest strap about 1.5 years ago as part of my New Year's resolution to lose weight, and here I am at it again trying to get rid of my COVID-19-induced weight gain. Working out outside is my preferred way to get some fitness in, and biking is fun. My Santa Cruz Heckler mountain bike does not come with a speed or rotation-per-minute (RPM) cadence sensor, however, and so I had relied on my Samsung Galaxy Watch and smartphone app to get an estimate of my workouts. So, I started looking for a cadence sensor and was about to buy the Wahoo one until I saw that Powr Labs came out with one. It had zero reviews at the time I bought it. Should I try it? Well, their HRM strap gave my broken Garmin a good run for its money, so, I went ahead and got one.PROS- Really small. Dare I say that it is "cute"?- Less expensive and much smaller than Wahoo- Mounts the same way as the Wahoo- Worked with my Garmin, Strava, Polar, and even Wahoo's own apps due in part to its compatibility with the ANT+ and Bluetooth standards- LED light to indicate that it is on- US-based company and support- IP67 water resistance-- Cadence can be dropped into water for up to 3.2′ (1m) deep for 30 mins- Uses standard CR2032 battery- Battery could easily be replacedCONS- Water resistant, not waterproof-- Not suitable for full-time use under water, though who would bike under water for 30+ minutes anyway?- Battery only lasts 6 months, according to the manufacturer. Wahoo claims theirs to last 12 months, though a quick check on reviews shows that this claim is inaccurate-- I have not owned this sensor long enough to see how long the battery will actually last, but longevity of course depends on how often and for how long you use it for- Powr Labs is not as big of a company as Wahoo- No speed sensor availableOverall, I have thus far been impressed by how small and light this sensor is. I mounted it to the Santa Cruz and read fairly accurate rotations in real-time on my app as compared to my watch's and app-only estimates that were either too generous or too conservative. Now I have much more accurate data to import into my Garmin dashboard to plan my workouts with, and am happy to be the first to provide a real review for this sensor.

Impossible to open to replace battery. Completely died less than 6 months later.
I got this in the middle of June 2022. I barely used it (maybe less than a dozen times). Tried using it again after 2 months of not using it at all. The battery seemed dead as no light indicator would come on after shaking it. It was nearly impossible to open the tracker in order to replace the battery. After reaching out to customer support, they told me to use a screwdriver or a nail picker, which they said another customer was successful using. How odd! They don't officially have an easy way to open the device and have resorted to telling other customers to use tools that another customer used. After breaking 4 nails, I was finally able to pop open the device with a metal nail picker. However, after replacing with a brand new battery it still doesn't work! It lit up for a few seconds and went dead again and won't pair. Now I can't get the device to open again in order to retrieve the brand new batter, even using the nail picker. I've spent way too much time on this useless device. I'm regretting trying to save $ by buying this off brand. Should have spent more on a well known brand. What a waste of time and $.

Works with peloton app
I first bought a Wahoo sensor. It didn’t work. They sent me two more sensors and they didn’t work. Sent several emails to wahoo tech support - still didn’t work. Bought the powr labs and it worked right away. And it is $15 cheaper than the wahoo sensor.

Eventually got it working.
Item arrived with a dead battery and missing pieces (no adhesives.) Bought a new battery and mounted it to the crank with the rubber rings that were luckily included and it appears to work fine.

Bring some fun back into your old spin bike -- Wahoo, Zwift, etc.
The powr-labs CADENCE sensor attaches nicely to the inside of one of the two pedals. You can quickly test it with the wahoo app on your android phone/tablet. The app also runs on iPhone, Mac and Windows. The sensor came with plenty of o-ring style bands, a 3M double-sided sticky tape and a retaining clip. Why I did not give this product five stars:With a quick shake, the sensor should blink blue right above the white dot that has the Bluetooth and ANT+ symbol. The sensor came with a dead CR2032 battery. I had to buy a new one and open the case to replace the one it came with.I would also recommend a powr-labs SPEED sensor and a power-labs Heart Rate Monitor for this project.

Works well and is thinner than other brands I've tried
Using this on an eMTB (Trek Rail 9.7 for reference). Had another common brand (Moo) that I was using on my previous bike, but on my new one the space between the crank arms and the bike frame is narrower and the sensor couldn't pass between them. Flipping that sensor around it was hard to find a spot on the crank arm where my shoe wouldn't hit it (and that is in fact how I lost that sensor). With the Powr Labs sensor, it's a bit thinner and fits between the crank arm and frame without any issues.

Impossible to change battery
As with other users it is impossible to change the battery. Used 3 different tools and still not open. Terrible design.

Compact, fits my bike
I need this because there wasn't much room for it. So far it's working

Great product
Setup easy with 540 Garmin and simple to attach to bike. Particularly like smaller size. Looks good on my S-Works.

Five months into buying product and it disconnects frequently during rides. Very frustrating.

Review Update
Just bought this and have yet to test it out. My main concern was that the unit would pair with my Coros Pace 2 watch and it does. I'll add more feedback after a few rides.Update: connecting to my watch above via BT is very unstable, it would disconnect randomly. Ant+ seems to has a very stable connection. I bought a new battery as I thought the one it came with was causing the connection issue. However, accuracy is not that great. What's really bothering is trying to change the battery out. Quite the effort and felt like the unit was going to break apart. Returning as I'm not completely satisfied about the product quality.

Helpful customer service
With help from customer service and lots of trouble shooting it works well. Although occasionally difficult to sync with various apps.Very difficult to change the battery though.
