Wholesome comfort food
These blue grits are hearty, creamy, and exquisitely delicious without any butter or oil, as other reviewers have said. A whole-grain, fat-free food high in anthocyanin, I am thrilled to find Marsh Hen Mill grits! I’ve loved grits all my life but never considered them a health food until I had these; plus they’re doing important work in conserving heirloom grains. The Velcro zipper is also nice. Curiously the bag has no cooking instructions. I cooked 1/2 C (2 servings) of grits in 3 C water with 1/2 tsp salt, plus pepper to taste, stirring constantly just over 20 mins until thickened. They turn purple while cooking and back to bluish gray after the water is absolved.

taste so good
These grits oh my gosh are so good so so good it is packed with flavor I just added salt butter and a little black pepper and when I say delicious delicious I definitely will be buying more. Before I did purchase, I read the reviews so and I think like two people said they used their crockpot and hit the porridge selection because they take longer to cook then white grits so I’m thankful for those reviews that I read that let you know don’t think you’re cooking them like the regular white grits you get out the store but it’s worth it and it’s good .

Heaty and Delicious
Even though the color can make the grits look purple when cooked, they are absolutely delicious! So hearty and tasteful. I will never buy regular grocery store white or yellow grits again. These are my new favorites. And the company has a bible verse on the back of their packaging which defintely checks boxes for me. :)

The grits are to expensive.
The grits were at most ok. I’ve had quick grit that were better in quicker to cook as well, but overall it’s fun to see the blue color of the grits.

Grrreat GRITS!!!
So flavorful and totally worth the money. I saw this on a PBS cooking show and had to try, so glad I did! I've had regular off the grocery shelf grits here in the Seattle area and it doesn't even come close. Spend the extra $$$, you won't be disappointed!

Just received my blue grits yesterday and couldn't wait to get them in the pot. The flavor was absolutely amazing! I am very pleased with the result and plan to serve them regularly. At the very end of the cooking process I added a half cup of heavy cream and gave it a good stir. After ten minutes, I removed it from the fire, added a handful of grated cheese and a pat of butter. Wow! Each mouthful was bursting with flavor. I now have a new staple for my kitchen.

Unique flavor and quality.
The grits are unique and have a flavor and color different than the run of the mill white grts. I am enjoying them a lot.

Just OK
Took very long to cook. Has an earthy flavor like dusty corn. I will try cooking with milk rather than water and see if flavor and creaminess improve. The jury is still out.
