Great kenmore customersupport!
The unit worked great for 6 months. Stopped working after that. Kenmore sent out a technician and said compressor was bad. Amazon has only 30 return. Kenmore has 1 year. Kenmore was great! I get a new one at no cost. All they ask is to send back the plug.

Smart feature extremely difficult to set up.
Although the unit is 80lb, its easy to install with the removable chassis. However, the smart features, app, Alexa integration just dont work. Following the quick start instructions I installed the app, created an account, I scanned the QR code. Before selecting the wifi network I started again and now when I scan the QR code the app tells me the appliance is already registered in my account and takes me back to the starting page of the app and stay I have to add an appliance to get stared. So I'm stuck in a loop of not being able to add the air conditioner to the app.I've been a software developer for 20 years and have 14 other devices (light bulbs, nest, TV etc) connected to my smart things hub and Alexa so I have a lot of experience with smart devices and IoT. I spent 30 minutes trying to fix this device. I'll spend another hour troubleshooting this device and if I can't make it work I'll return to Amazon. Kenmore - my product suggestion is to harden you app . It can get stuck in an unrecoverable loop and leave the consumer with a very expense dumb air conditioner.Edit: 5/31/2019. After a few hours of troubleshooting did manage to get the app working. The app has a 30-60 minute lag between registering the device and the device showing up in the app so I wasted an hour stuck a stupid loop trying to registered the a/c with the app. Also it take 30 minutes for the list of available wifi networks to show up in the app. I called Kemore for support and they promptly called me back the next business day but by then I had fixed the application myself. I'm not sure a non-technical person would be able to set it up if they ran into the same problems with the app as I did. The app needs to be a lot more fault tolerant and 30-60 minute latency is unacceptable. 1 stars for the app and smart features setup . 5 stars for everything else. Now that it is running it is very quiet (I spend a lot of time getting the installation right and making sure I only had metal on wood so nothing wood rattle) and the Alexa integration works well. I can turn the unit on and off, set the temperature and change mode via Alexa.

Update... Compressor split after 1 1/2 months
This is a nice air conditioner my problem with it is the clips used to secure the control panel to the unit are cheap, both were broken on arrival... I had to use this unit immediately so there was no choice but to break out the gorilla tape... This needs a redesign. Also the window insert doesn’t have a grill to protect the aluminum fins so be aware if you are mounting this at a level where it can be touched or bumped against by anything... Comparable Fridgidare models are better quality in my opinion having one for 13 years and have the grill to cover the aluminum fins. Updated review... Ok this unit is junk, the compressor blew up and threw oil everywhere outside... Customer support has been horrible since I didn’t purchase the item from Sears or K Mart. If you have problems outside the 30 day return window there isn’t a lot Amazon is willing to do to help and Kenmore seems to never be able to contact Amazon in reference to the purchase... Buy a Fridgidare save yourself the headache
