National Opticianry Competency Exam Secrets Study Guide: NOCE Test Review for the National Opticianry Competency Exam

This book is a decent intro to things you need to know for ABO exam. It doesn’t have any photos or many details on how to do a procedure of certain things or on instruments. I think it is good for a starting point, but more information/photos would be helpful. Cheaply made paper cover, thought it’d be thicker/more protective cover.

I bought this almost a year ago and procrastinated and dragged my feet getting everything done before my apprentice permit expired. As my deadline was fast approaching, I signed up for the ABO, and in two months using only this book along with the corresponding flash cards, passed my test on the first attempt. So many resources are so so far into the weeds, covering topics that will never ever appear on your test. This book concisely and clearly tells you what you need to know to pass. It also has a practice test with actual EXPLANATIONS of why the answers are what they are. Plus, as someone who struggles with math, and barely passed algebra in high school, this book simplified it to a point where it barely felt more complicated than basic 4-function math. Get this book, read it cover to cover, take the practice test, researching why certain answers were incorrect, take notes as you do all this, and odds are you’ll be successful.

This study guide is fantastic! I bought it to supplement my other study materials. I love how each topic is broken down into digestible sections that are easy to understand. Also, the practice test was EXTREMELY helpful! I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone wanting to obtain their ABO certification or just wanting a better understanding of opticianry and ophthalmic lenses.

This study guide really helped me, when studying for the ABO I wasn’t sure what content I really needed to know and what I wouldn’t need to know as much of. This book is cut and dry, it gets right to the point and I love that. I studied this book for 2 months prior to the ABO exam and I passed! I also recommend looking into laramy k optical on YouTube to watch videos of prentices formula for a better understanding of that. There were lots of questions concerning prism on the test and also dispensing procedures. Hope this review helped, now go buy this book!

Since I started studying this book, it's being opening my understanding about optics.It has an easy way to understand concepts and builds up from the basics to let me see a bigger picture.It is a huge plus the fact that, on the review questions, it will give you not only the correct answer but a WHY.

I'd like to say thank you for your services so far. Very recently I purchased the NATIONAL OPTICIANRY COMPETENCY EXAM Secrets Study Guide. I spent a tiny bit more for shipping and received it in less than 48 hours. Since I received it I haven't been able to put it down. A tremendous resource, concise and to the point verses a giant textbook to sweat through.It contains information I couldn't find by "Googling" and I will definitely recommend to my peers. I'm looking for ward to contacting you after I take the exam with my results. I'm confident they will far exceed satisfactory.

I was expecting a big book instead of a newspaper. This book is way different from the official one, it contains different formulas and i didnt find it so clear.
