Like I said; it's clear this is a third-party product and likely not made from The Best Materials™, but it works with no issues and it's ten dollars. What else are you looking for? If you want to take out any guesswork and buy an old secondhand first-party power cable for your SNES then you *can*, but this worked just fine for mine and I'm not concerned it's going to short out or anything. That said, I *do* have it [and everything else; so should you, honestly] connected to a surge protector and not just a power strip, just to avoid as much risk as possible.

It works amazing for NES and SNES just that but for Genesis it will barely work

I bought this for an NES and it works perfectly for it so far. Seems like a good product.The only weird thing to me is how absurdly big the plastic box is for the adapter, it's very large and actually almost entirely hollow. I took it apart briefly to discover that there's really not much in there lol. Just a weird decision, not a knock against the overall usefulness of the product.

Bought this for my old school NES gaming system, and unfortunately I didn't order the correct cord. But the cord seemed to work when I plugged it in. I just caution you to make sure that this is the correct cord that you need before purchasing.

Hadn’t used my 1990 NES in years after misplacing the power supply. So far I’ve powered it up and played a few different times and no issues. Happy to be playing Paperboy again.

Works as advertised on my original Super Nintendo base, unfortunately that wasn’t the problem. Now I need a new video cord or have something in the base fixed.

9V adapters aren't really up to full SNES standard, which was 10V 850mA. (You can find supplies rated for the real spec but even those aren't as beefy as the original which usually ran closer to 12V.)For most games this will actually work just fine. However, depending on the board and chips in your game cartridge this supply may not be able to keep up and the game will glitch, crash or can even damage your SNES over time.You can get a 10V 850mA adapter and modify it to have the right barrel plug and polarity (center pin negative) or you can use one of these adapters. An extremely valuable mod to protect your SNES is to open it up and solder a 470uf 6.3V capacitor to the 7805 regulator which will make the unit far better able to handle undervolt events. A good mod service can do this for you at the same time as an RGB mod as it doesn't take much extra effort. (Some SNES models also lack a 1000uf 25V capacitor which can further improve reliability and even image quality.)Maintaining your console is absolutely vital, as they obviously aren't making these anymore. When I mod an SNES unit I always replace the capacitors even if they're working, as this extends their usable lifespan and minimizes wear on harder to replace components. Remember, you're not just retrogaming; you're preserving a piece of history.

Surprisingly light weight! Has dual power cables from one adapter and works well with my NES AND SNES. Although I don’t use both systems at the same time, I tested it and i have both running at once. Does the job, great value and would buy from this seller again.
