Worked just as I hoped!
Worked just as I hoped! I stumbled upon this product and was hoping it would do the trick for pliers I use for making key fobs (among other things). It worked perfectly! I definitely kept my eye on it to make sure the coating didn't 'pool' while it was still very wet. I just watched it closely for about the first hour and would pick it up and invert it for about 5 minutes to evenly spread the product. I waited a full day before I used it (because I think I actually put too much on) and it didn't leave any marks. Very happy with the purchase. Thanks for a great product.

Best tool coating. Ever!!!
This stuff is amazing! Worth every penny! Saves my creations from tool marks, which sometimes are inevitable no matter how experienced or careful one may be. After having used this tool coating for years and years, I have a few tips to help you have an awesome experience with Tool Magic.Try not to get the coating on the edges of the jar to keep it from gluing the lid to the jar. This is not something you can just screw that lid down super tight and forget about it. It's worth the effort to loosen the lid every couple of weeks then gently tighten to keep the lid turnable and the coating accessable.Stir well before using. I use an old metal butter knife for this. Chop stick will work but it wastes product. With the knife you can cleanly scrape product back into the jar easily and then either wipe the knife with a paper towel or just peel the coating off before washing. Don't use water for clean up as it will just be a mess that you won't enjoy. (voice of experience. :))Xylene solvent thins Tool Magic like magic! Xylene is inexpensive - you can get a one quart can at Home Depot for $7 and change - that will last forever. Just use an old teaspoon to carefully add solvent to your jar of thickened Tool Magic a little at a time, stirring well with your old knife until it is creamy smooth again. Easy peasy!I have found that one thick coat of Tool Magic workes better than two thin ones. The coating looks fat at first when dipping, but shrinks down when dry. And as stated elsewhere, don't dip your tool's hinges. I hang my tools on the edge of a glass for drying. The coating dries quickly. You can use your tools in just a few hours, or just wait over night.Hope this helps! Thank you, Tool Magic! Your product rocks!!!

Great product!
I was happy to be able to find this in Amazon. Am getting low on my last bottle and doing my best to not make unnecessary trips to stores during Covid. The product is very easy to use and helps from marring delicate items and jump rings.

It delivers, but is a bit on the expensive side
ToolMagic works well as advertised. It creates a thin layer of a rubber material on your tools so they won't damage whatever you are working with. This is great if you are working with soft and delicate materials such as fine jewelry, soft gem stones and/or jump rings.A few things I found when working with it:- It works best with a single coating that has been left to dry overnight. If used before the coat is completely dried and cured it will not last as long.- Some people say a double coat works better, but I found the coat then gets too thick and gets in the way of properly gripping fine materials.- If taking normal care a single coat should last for several hours of work. I personally keep two sets of tools coated so I can switch if one loses its coating.- This is not suitable for working with hard materials such as stainless steel. Too much force is needed to work with such materials and the ToolMagic coating will quickly give away under the pressure.- Shake well before use and make sure to keep the jar closed properly when not dipping your tools, it dries out quickly. If necessary it can be thinned by adding just a bit of the solvent Xylene (available at any decent hardware store). The controversial stuff:- There are similar products such as Plasti Dip and Liquid Electrical Tape. These have a slightly different composition but may work just as well. Some say even better. Especially Plasti Dip seems to last longer.- Compared to Plasti Dip and Liquid Electrical Tape, ToolMagic is rather expensive for such a small jar.Nevertheless, it delivers as promised.Hope this helps.

No More Wire Damage
I really like the coating on my tools. No more marks on my wire projects, which I love. It eventually wears through, but you just peel the old coating off and re-dip your tools. A hint is shake the container a little before using. I use a pint size jar to rest my tools while they dry.

Your product works perfectly!!!!
I like the product but when opening the packagethe lid was loose and not quite a third leaked out and crustedaround the lid to seal the rest in. For that price I feel Tool Magicis taking a 50/50 chance of customers getting a leak out whenopening the package.I would recommend this product to others because it really works!!!!!Please, that was a lot for me to loose on this shipment and I thinkyou have a great product, but it makes me wonder if this happens to others.Thank you for your time.

Just what I've always needed!
What a difference this makes! I make wire jewelry, and I hate using the nylon pliers because they are weak, and the wire slips. I hate using metal pliers because they mark the jewelry. I put some Tool Magic on the metal pliers, and voila! Now they hold firmly, don't slip, and best of all, don't leave marks on even the softest wire. And when it starts to get icky, I peel it off and re-coat. So simple! Some advice for use: 1) Get some cheap stir sticks and stir this before each use; and 2) Make sure there isn't any oil on the area to be coated. If you make wire jewelry, you NEED THIS!

I love this product
Tool Magic does exactly what it purports to do. It coats my metal tools so they don't scratch the metal surfaces I am working on while creating jewelry. My only wish is that it would last a little longer before it begins to tear. I barely get a bracelet finished before I have to remove the old and re-dip my tools. Overall, however, this is a great product.
