With all the alarming things going on in the world today, this is a product that’s certainly not a bad idea to have in your emergency stash. Potassium Iodide is one of the most effective supplements in the unlikely event of radiation exposure. One thing that I really like about this brand is that it is third party tested to validate its content claims. In the United States, there is really not much regulation over what supplements can claim to contain. In other words, vitamins can say they meet a specific mg content but not be anywhere near true. I like that Nutricost had a third-party laboratory substantiate their claims. Now regarding using it as an emergency supplement, I don’t believe I’ll ever need it, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. If such a situation ever did occur, finding it would probably be next to impossible.

This is part of our emergency kit as we are located in an area surrounded by nuclear power plants (2 within 20 miles and several others close enough to worry about).You take a recommended dosing when a nuclear disaster hit and it supposedly fills your thyroid up with the supplement so that the thyroid cannot absorb radiation.I especially like that this has a 2025 expiration year so that it can go in our storage bags. The US Army did a study a few years back outlining the longevity of medications and the expiration date stated is not necessarily when the strength diminishes (worth looking into if you have an emergency stock of pills).Five stars based on the above needs. I won't know how this functions as a supplement until I really need it.

This is basically a child dosage preventative for radiation protection for the thyroid in a nuclear emergency. There are other potassium iodide products on the market that are substantially cheaper, although I don't mind having this on hand. I would recommend that you shop before you buy. Evan at Amazon's marked down price it is more expensive than you can pay elsewhere. Potassium iodide is potassium iodide to me.

Great product

I have been using this for a few days now and can affirm it's good.Vitamins are perhaps a bit tricky to review, as the body and its health are very personal and potentially subjective areas. That being said, these seem to be well produced; there is no chemical taste or aftertaste, they don't smell oddly, and at least for me, I did notice a bit more energy after a few days of taking them. (Iodine has been associated with energy level.)These could also be good if you are concerned about fallout and the absorption of harmful (radioactive) iodine after a radiation exposure: load up on good iodine and your body will use that instead of the bad stuff. In theory.The above is simply my opinion and not medical advice, but that's the purpose of a review anyway. Bottom line: these seem to work fine and I doubt you will be disappointed if you get them!

When shopping for a product like this, I look for something that is made/sold by a reputable company, that are preferably tested by trusted third parties, whose contents can reasonably be trusted to be the ingredients listed on the bottle. When shopping for supplements, especially online, this is NOT a guarantee.But, this product checks all those boxes for me. After doing some research on Nutricost, I'm confident that this product contains what it says it does, and doesn't contain a bunch of other random stuff instead/in addition. We'll be keeping this along with other emergency supplies as part of reasonable disaster preparations. Given the times we now live in, it seems like a small investment for a bit more peace of mind.
