Low cost, no maintenance, almost BOA® like fit.
I purchased these "tieless" laces simply because they were plain black, to go with my black work shoes. Almost every other brand seems to always have some reflective striping.Turns out, this is one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon! I've tried "locking type laces" where the locking mechanisms slip or the lace end caps come open. Caterpy Laces are engineered simpler and superior to anything else I have used.Just lace them up, pull tight and trim the laces, leaving 2 to 3 "bumps" past the last eyelet of your shoes. With the shoes off, the laces retract and the bumps are visible. With the shoes on, the laces stretch and the bumps disappear across the space between eyelets, yet they don't slip at all.You can make your shoes as snug or loose as you like with finite control from top to bottom, not limited to the top the way standard tied laces are. Donning and doffing is as easy as slippers due to the stretchiness, and yet wearing them is just as snug and can be more snug a than tied laces. There doesn't appear to be any risk of fraying due to trimming. I will test cauterize the excess trimmings to see if it is worth while to do so.Bottom line, think low cost, no maintenance, almost BOA® fit for any shoe you have.

Great for lazy tweens/teens
My kids are going to leave their shoes tied anyway, so I decided to stop pretending otherwise and get these. These are great. They stay put. That was the biggest surprise because I was sure the little "bumps" on the laces would not hold them in place, but they do. My middle-schooler and high-schooler both wear them for PE and don't have any issues. And I can now feel good about saving my overworked children the 5.2 seconds of physical effort it would take to actually tie/untie their shoes each day, so it's a win-win.

Excellent Laces for Running Shoes
I was looking for a pair of no tie laces that would save time in transitions during triathlons, but would also hold my feet securely in the shoe without moving around AT ALL. If my feet slide in my shoes, I develop irritation or blisters on runs over 7-10 miles.Easy to install, plenty long for all shoe sizes and types, and after cutting them they don't fray down. Great buy, great for triathlon transition gains (especially in shorter races), and they work well as regular laces for everyday trainers as well. They've been holding up just like new since I installed them a month ago with 3-4 runs per week. If they start to fade in effectiveness, I'll update this review to give a timeline estimate.____________________Update: After a year of light use (I have these on my short distance tri shoes, so they aren't my normal trainers), the laces have shortened and now continually slip inside the top eyelet, manning they're really loose. Next time I'll go with the bungee draw string laces for durability.

Solid product for converse
I bought these for my Converse hightops because getting in and out of them was annoying. These laces solved the issue. They give you enough lace to make it to the top of the converse but you will not be able to tie it. I know your not supposed to anyway. If you do go all the way to the top of a converse the shoe will be to tight to slide your foot in anyway; defeating the point. I left my top 2 eyelets opens as seen in the photos and the shoe feels secure. Finally I can just slip them on.The laces themselves feel really sturdy. If you like the design or just want a good lace product get these. They work.

Laces were as expected.
These were a gift with my 9 year old cousin with sensory issues who struggles tying a regular pair of shoes. We bought these for him in hopes to make his getting ready process more independent. We tried them in his shoes on Christmas and they worked well to tighten them enough to stay on his feet. They intend to use them in a different pair of shoes. I will attempt to update back about how they are working and holding up in his other shoes.

1st Place Lace!
Genius! I saw this item at a race expo but they were out of black at the time. Not only is it convenient, but it creates an elasticity to slide your foot in and out WITHOUT creating slack. Will be buying more!

Works Great...eventually
This is my second pair of these laces. I get tired of always heading to the gym, then re-tying my shoes for a workout. Having these let me set it and forget it which is great. A few tips:1. READ THE DIRECTIONS - lacing these with your feet in them as guided will help big time.2. It won't instantly be the perfect setting - What I mean is, you may put your feet in and lace em up, but then you hit the gym and they feel loose, or feel too tight you never know. I've found that it takes some adjusting tighter and looser for a few gym sessions. Eventually you'll find that sweet spot and from there you're good to go.I had a pair of these on my last pair of Crossfit shoes and they worked great, and still do. I got a new pair of Crossfit shoes and decided to just order another set for them, so I'm going through the fitting process now. It's been a week at the gym so far, and probably another 4 or 5 sessions I'll have these ones dialed as well.I always just tuck the excess in the shoes, especially at the beginning. You don't want to cut the excess before you're positive on the fit.

Do Not Cut before knotting first
Took the advice of a dissatisfied customer and did not cut because of immediate fraying. Glad I did. They were Waaaayy too long for my daughter’s shoes. This design needs a bungee-cord like stopper to make it better if cut. Daughter hated this design. She is now using my Hickies laces. (Love those BTW-using the same pair for a year and a half) I have this design and still have to figure out what to do with the extra length. I won’t be buying again.Edit: laced these in shoes and tied a knot. Then I cut above the knot (no fraying) so I don’t end up with laces still hanging on floor. Worked perfectly! Knot has not come out and there is no fraying. These laces have been jump roping, and regular recess for about 2 1/2 weeks now. The extra length of laces (about 5 inches) are being used for tying up extra long phone chargers 😆. We made it work!
