Norcil Nerdi, 10.5 x 15, Insect Bug Fly

My son had a flag project for school and he wanted to do a spray painted board flag. After doing a lot of research I chose this one because it included the smaller stencil for a 13 x 25" proportioned flag. Most of the others were just for a full-sized flag. Also it got good reviews for being durable (e.g. staying flat in transit). This made doing the union so much easier. We used the stencil to mark off the blue portion, sprayed it and then when it dried, did the stars. He is only 8 and did the spraying and the stars came out great. I should have had him spray directly above the stencil as a couple of stars had some minor artifacts from painting coming in under two of the corner stars but the overall look is fantastic. He was thrilled. Well worth the money!

My husband has gotten into making wooden flags. This stencil works PERFECTLY.It is important to keep it stored flat, and even better if you press it by placing something heavy on top of it. This will help to make sure you don't get any bowing which can cause over spray when you go to paint the stars. If you do this, you will end up with some nice CRISP stars.Also, I recommend making the edges of the board and then applying masking tape to hold this stencil in place. Make sure it is sitting flat, and not bowing up. If the edge of the stencil hangs over the edge of your board, you probably won't want to place tape on that side as the pressure will cause the stencil to "lift" in some areas, and this will effect the sharpness of your stars. Once you are ready to spray paint, try to apply evenly from the same direction (Straight on). Try not to paint from a side angle or you will cause over-spray that blurs the edges of your stars.

This star stencil is easy to use, and makes great stars, but would probably work better if just painting rather than tracing with a pencil.Though it should last a while, it want to lift up when tracing with a pencil. This happened even with it taped and clamped down. Sometimes the pencil would go under the stencil as it would bend up when tracing the edges of star.Great if you wanted to paint on the stars, a bit tougher if you want to trace with a pencil for carving. Just wish the made these a bit thicker

Great stencil for making wooden flags! The dimensions are perfect for both a large and smaller flag. The material they are made out of is nice and thick so it doesn't roll up on you making it very easy to use no need to tape it down which can be a pain. Highly recommend these stencils if your building flags. Quality product and seller was very profesional with emails to make sure I was happy with what i recieved also very quick to ship them out.

I'm very happy with the star stencils,they are very well made and heavy and that's a bonus if you want to spray your stars on,I was able to get away with just laying it on and it held itself in place as I painted it with other stencil purchases from Wal-Mart and other places have no been so lucky they usually want to move around or flex or even lift up and cause paint bleeds/overspray. I'm glad this product makes it an enjoyable process because let's face it,some of us invest a lot of time and money in projects and don't want to be sanding off mistakes. Buy this you won't regret it.

I was skeptical at first due to the stencil not having any reviews, but I decided to take the risk and purchase it. I am very satisfied with it. The stencil is made of quality material, and the stars are very crisp and sharp. Highly recommend it! Packaged very nicely as well. Quality seller! Thank you!

Would work better if it was a little thicker. Hard to use it without it bleeding past the stencil.

To this point I've only used the smaller template but it works fairly well. I got a good amount of "bleed" before adding a ton of small nuts around the stars to weight it down. Also very careful about how much paint I apply on each pass.
