Loquats ok
Purchased this to use on our loquat tree and worked as I hoped it would. Does not have a screw base. You will need to have a wood or metal pole without the ability to screw something on to it. A plain tip pole would be best to attach this to.

It works
Got it for figs and lemons. I've only had this a few days so my review is based on limited use. First I went to Home Depot and found a 6ft wood pole which fit nicely into the sleeve. Screwing it in was no problem and the two screws seem to hold the pole fine. Just in case, there is a hole at the bottom of the basket to put another screw if needed. I don't think the manufacturer intended it or they'd have given 3 screws. I just happened to examine it before putting it together. Getting the lemons was easy. Getting the figs needed some dexterity because the branch bends when you pull on the fruit and my wife said she needed to twist and pull, not just pull. All in all, it's fine for us.

Worked well in my fig tree.
Although it may not be sturdy enough to last long picking heavier fruit, it worked well in my fig tree. Just get the stem in the bottom of the V with the fruit on the inside, then gently pull or twist and the fruit drops in the basket. Big enough to to hold a few figs before you have to empty it. The hook on the side also allowed me to grab a limb and bend it down into reach. The only issue I had was with overripe fruit getting damaged, but that was not the Fruit Picker's fault. An added bonus is the pole (not included) keeps you distanced from the bees, wasps, and ants that are sometimes lingering on the ripe fruit.

Works well for cherries!
Wow what a good investment. Central PA 2019 sweet cherry season was a little thinner this year than normal due to the weather.... most cherries were at the tops of the trees where you could not get to them (orchard does not allow ladders and climbing can be dangerous) so I ordered 1 of these, attached it to a extending painter's pole (12 foot pole) went back a few days later and picked 6.5 lbs of good cherries (more than that with the bad ones we sorted out) with my 9yo son in about 1.5 hours. So easy to use... didnt damage the trees at all... ordered 1 more to use for next year so that we have 2 of them when we go picking.
