Loved
I love little coffee shops were friends can hang out. This captured all those things, and pulled me right in.I kept wondering where did I see Laura Vandervoort before? Then I remembered she played on White Collar with Matt Bomer- she was Sophia Covington...Anyways I loved Donovan. I also loved her with Cory Grant. When he came to town I just felt they needed to be together. Then her ex-boyfriend came back. Ugh! So uptight. I knew he was going to cause some problem.I highly suggest. I’m glad that I bought this movie. I felt like I wished that shop was close by. I would so go.

Cory Grant is the saving grace. . .
I'm really just giving this 4 stars out of sympathy and because I like to see wholesome entertainment in existence. I enjoy flicks that don't feel the need to throw the F bomb around for no reason or objectify women by throwing nudity in there (for once again, no reason, typically). I think the current 3.5 star rating on Amazon is pretty accurate for this flick. I feel like Cory Grant is the saving grace to the movie... not just because he is gorgeous to look at (I'm married but still, wow =0 haha) -- but MORE IMPORTANTLY - because he actually makes you feel at ease, like his acting is natural, not forced. I will say the chick with the glasses who is one of the barista's also has natural talent, too. The main actress, as I noticed another reviewer state, is just lacking something... like the real true emotions aren't there for her? Idk, it's hard to put into words because you can't even say she's a bad actress, it's not exactly that. Also, since I'm just blabbering here, I'd like to note that I really liked Rachel Hendrix in October Baby, but in this movie she's just "ok", and it kinda sucks that she basically becomes the antagonist at one point. She pissed me off, haha. ALL OF THAT SAID (if anyone's made it this far), I felt a lot of cringey moments in the movie, that could have been cleaned up if they really wanted to have a home run. So, overall it was what you'd expect for a hallmark-y type movie. Probably wouldn't feel the need to watch it again, though... sorry...

Perfect for Café Girl binge-watch night!
Donavan Turner (Laura Vandervoort) owns a “cozy chic” coffee shop near the beach. Coffee is her passion. Blending, crafting and brewing — she enjoys every moment and sip. But her business is in trouble. She can’t afford to pay back the loans for repairing parts of the shop, and now a big bank type (John Lovitz) has come to collect. Recently, Donavan thought her biggest problem was finding Mr. Right, but things are looking up. Her ex-boyfriend resurfaces just as she meets a cute playwright (Cory M. Grant) hoping to write his next Broadway hit. He finds inspiration in Donavan, but several misunderstandings get in the way of a potential romance. So, this is a Hallmark movie — clean, romantic, predictable. I love it! You need fluff like this from time to time, especially in the here and now. Laura Vandervoort is so beautiful. I loved her in BITTEN, and it’s nice that she’s found her niche in the rom-com arena. Cory M. Grant is gorgeous! He's the go-to leading man for these movies. My main reason for watching this? Coffee. Yes. Coffee. As Café Girl, I couldn’t resist watching this. Coffee shops are kind of my thing, and I wanted to see how the movie portrays the café business. It shows little to no insight into coffee shops — other than the fact that she needs money to keep it open. Great movie with sweet characters and romance novel-like plot. I give it four out of five French Blonde Roast coffees, with a splash of coconut syrup, for that extra sweet taste!

A modest romance like decaf -- the flavor is good but it lacks kick
This is a decent romance film that is shot well and has an attractive cast. Laura Vandervoort as Donavan is gorgeous, and the guy she ends up with (Ben, played by Cory Grant), is the current type for a good-looking guy. The storyline about her coffee shop and its impending foreclosure was good, and it added a sense of urgency and sadness. The actors all run through their lines reasonably well and the scenery is pretty. So all the elements are here, but it still fell a little flat for me. For one thing, there are a couple scenes where Donavan plays piano and sings, and it's clear that she's not actually playing. They just didn't feel real to me (I play guitar/sing and can bang out a few chords on the piano). If such a musical scene is going to be important in a film, the actor should know how to play to sell the scene. For another, Ben is a New York City playwright with a hit and a couple of flops, and he definitely doesn't look the part. Sure, he's handsome, but he's a little young and is dressed more "Denver Frisbee gamer" than "NYC art crowd member." He definitely doesn't fit the part for me. Also, Kevin Sorbo as Ben's play producer hammed it up in every scene, overselling his role. On the positive side, it's always fun to see Jon Lovitz in a movie... the producers should have given him more to do.One more thing I liked about "Coffee Shop" was its lack of profanity. It is possible to have a film that appeals to adults without a lot of rough language."Coffee Shop" is a dime-store romance that is competently done but is more-or-less by the numbers and predictable. The writing was not crisp, the acting never passed the "fair" mark and the casting was off in spots. But it is an acceptable romance for a rainy night. And Laura Vandervoort... wow! I'd watch her take out the garbage!

Not sure why, but I really liked this movie.
I really felt the acting was good and the story line well written in this movie. I watched it years ago and liked it, then I watched it again recently and liked it just as much.

CoffeeShop
I enjoyed watching this movie very much. Laura Vanervoort has a coffeeshop and owes the bank lots of money. Laura Vanervoort has become a beautiful woman threw her carrier and is more matter and plays this character perfect. She hers from the banker that his partner is going to buy out the coffeeshop and turn it into a parking lot, and she does not like this, Laura Vanervoort see the banker outside the shop talking to some young guy and she jumps to conclusion that he is this hidden partner. She treats him unfair and the two start off on the wrong foot. Her sister and sisters boy friend inviter the two over for dinner but neither now they are coming for dinner, As the movie goes love trumps and this work out in the end but to get their people go through obstacles to get there. Don't expect a fantastic move I would rate this movie like a Hallmark movie is rated. I am a guy but like different kinds off movies, like Kong Skull Island, Thor etc, I find this is a movie the family can watch with no killing no bad language just life with people dealing with everyday issues but some turn out better than others in real life. The actors in this movie are also great characters in the movie and adds to the movie with them in it. Cory Grant, Rachel Hendrix, Jason Burkey, Jon Lovitz and Kevin Sorbo Laura Vanervoort. Enjoy.
