Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking extensively for this matellese coverlet. It's light weight and perfect for hot Texas summer/springs. It is a coverlet, not to be mistaken for a full cover bedspread. It will not cover sides or bottom to the floor. I wish they had the king shams to complete the look. I will keep watching for them to possibly restock.

Beautiful coverlet
I love this coverlet. It's kind of heavy and made very well. Looks more expensive than it was.

Very Pleased! except........
Since I have a queen sized mattress with a giant pillowtop mattress I need a king size coverlet to fall long enough to cover the mattress and springs. And I wanted a good quality matelasse to replace the one that I had. This coverlet is made in Portugal, not China and is quality construction. The pattern is subtle and pleasing and the ivory is a true ivory and not too yellow. I was concerned that the price being so low for this product would indicate skimpy fabric or uneven stitches. Not so! This is as pretty as the Peacock Alley coverlet that I had that was 3 times the price. Highly recommended and I'm very glad to have found this on Amazon.Addendum: I washed the coverlet and dried it in the dryer on medium. It SHRUNK. So beware. It is now about the size of a regular queen size coverlet. I just can't put anything on my bed that hasn't been washed. Maybe line drying would have been ok.

Watch the measurements.
I don't know why, but they're making queen bedspreads really small now days. This is a universal problem. When you get it on the bed it doesn't even cover the end of the mattress.I'm getting wise to this and bought the king. It's a little long on the sides (only about 6 inches too long), but perfect for the length.I would NOT have been happy with this purchase had I bought the queen. Two people would end up fighting over the blankets and the bed wouldn't look good when it was made. This is a very nice quilt in general. Decent quality. A bit thin as most quilts are, but great for layering. Fantastic bargain for the price. I think the queen size would fit a double bed well.

Thrilled with this!
I am more than pleased with my purchase. It is a perfect weight for summer night sleeping and the blue that I ordered compliments my periwinkle accessories. I washed and partially dried it immediately upon receiving it and did not notice any smell as mentioned in other comments. I hung it to dry for a bit to be sure there were no wrinkles and it looks lovely on the bed. I ordered the king for my new queen bed and it is a perfect fit. The underside even looks lovely folded over and provides a lovely contrast. Will be ordering the yellow soon!

Mostly good!
I like this coverlet, though will note that it shrunk in the wrong direction. Based on other reviews, I bought a king size coverlet for my queen bed and promptly washed it (it kind of smelled coming out of the packaging, anyway). I didn't measure the coverlet before washing, but after a delicate wash and low heat drying, it now measures 102x87. I wish it hadn't shrunk so much in the width and shrunk more in the length as the corners still drag on the floor. Also, note that one side is straight, while the other three are scalloped, which limits your options for purposes of turning the coverlet 90 degrees. And the scalloping seems rather more pronounced in person, as opposed to the picture. Oh, and the ivory is ivory, but looks a bit closer to white (and less beige) than the picture.

Its ok but nothing to brag about
This product is not as good as the price tag would imply. Its not well cut, as obviously no one was taking care to place the pattern on the fabric in a way that looks appealing, as the pattern is off set. It looks like its supposed to centered and several inches off, but the second sham pattern placement is entirely random so its just bad luck that one sham was cut this way. The fabric also has a lot of synthetic fiber in it which gives it an odd feel (for softness it says, but I think it just feels kinda cheap). Given the price, I would expect much better. I can buy better quality all cotton shams from Pottery Barn for just a little bit more. And I might. I received the coverlet 5 days ago and felt similarly but took a chance. I washed the coverlet thinking it if I washed out the start it would improve the feel, but it had little affect. I don't come into contact with the coverlet as much, as its place between sheet and comforter, but a sham used as a back rest I would touch a lot more. Note that the fabric shrinks a great deal upon washing.

almost returned it because it is so thin, but changed my mind
It's pretty. I would have given it 5 stars BUT it's extremely thin. I read the reviews before ordering and knew it would be thin, but it is even thinner than I expected - more like a very thin bedspread. I was looking for a pretty cover for the queen size bed in our RV. I didn't need it to go to the floor, but based on all the reports on the shrinkage, I ordered the king size. I did wash it first based on recommendations and because I wanted it to shrink, I washed it in warm water. It did shrink and for me it is exactly the right size. It does not reach the floor on my queen bed (it reaches about halfway) which is perfect for me, as the bed lifts for storage and I can easily do it.
