I've taken three different brands and this one has performed best for me. I take this to avoid constipation. I experimented with dosage initially and started with 1 500mg which didn't help, then to 1000 mg and then 1500 mg. With this product, I can take 1000 one day and 1500 next day, alternating between the dosages. With other brands (especially ones that are a combination of magnesium forms), I have to take at least 1500 mg every day. I suppose the pure magnesium oxide form is best for me. I take mine in the am so I have had no problems with sleep.

My doctor prescribed magnesium for me but didn't tell me about the various forms of magnesium. I bought this one and didn't expect any problems as I have never had problems with supplements in the past. It wasn't until I finished the bottle that I realized that it was the cause of a very annoying problem. Unless you have serious constipation problems, I would suggest that you NOT take these. Doing research online, I learned that this is the worst form available. It caused me to have "explosive diarrhea." It got so bad that I was about to make an appointment with my doctor to rule out cancer. After several months of being practically housebound, it stopped when I finished taking the last pill. A much better form of magnesium is chelated bisglycinate magnesium. It costs quite a bit more but is more readily absorbed without nasty side effects.

I have been taking these solely for the purpose of staying "regular."Absolute GOD send! :DMagnesium OXIDE is the magnesium that does that.I've stuck to the GNC brand for years now and have had no problems with them ever.I take one a night....if that doesn't happen to do it for me...maybe based on what i've eaten....I take 2 the next night. Just be careful...you can overdue it and get very loose stools....If I have to take 2 pills 2 nights in a row....I might skip the following night. But they ALWAYS produce for me... :)Seriously.....they have never failed me...just have to work with the dose that's right for you....but the wonderful thing is that it's magnesium...a critical, necessary element to our health!I've tried so many things over the years....this and Triphala (which works very similarly) work AMAZINGLY for me....every time!!

Years ago My Dr put me on magnesium for my fibromyalgia and I can notice a difference in pain level if I don't have it for a few days. If you too want to try for fibromyalgia the dosage is 1000 mg at bedtime. My husband also takes magnesium for restless leg syndrome. I couldn't believe the difference it made. He used to kick and keep his legs moving in every direction. What a marriage saver. I was ready to move into another bedroom. lol.I've used GNC Supplements for years and I have found everything to be of excellent quality. I trust the GNC lable!!

My doctor suggested that I may want to add magnesium to my daily routine to help with anxiety, leg cramps, and a heap full of other ailments magnesium is necessary for the body to absorb calcium, strong bones, teeth and over all cell functions. I opted for this brand since I have purchased other supplements from GNC before and was pleased with the results. I would recommend this brand to others.

Interesting.....my eye and limbs do some twitching unless I take magnesium. Other brands of magnesium of the same MG make the twitching stop. When I ordered and began taking this GNC Magnesium, the twitching continued!!!

Needed more Magnesium after my RYN-gastric bypass surgery. My surgeon said the requirements have changed and that we are required to take a max of 500MG. I was unable to find something for a good price at all the local stores and even this bet the price at GNC even with the gold membership. They have no aftertaste and go down really easy and no problems with my pouch either.

This is the only kind of magnesium I will ever buy - I swear by it!
