GEAR AID Sea Drops Cleaners

Excellent defogger. My mask didn’t fog at all.

For a few dollars I doubted that this product would work so I was pleasantly surprised when it did. The key is to follow the directions. Two drops, smear it around on the mask, and a quick rinse. If you over rinse the product does not work. On our recent trip a quick application would last for at least an hour of snorkeling.

The bottle is small but it works well.

I have been using these sea drops in my swim goggles for a daily one hour swim for many years. A single bottle lasts me almost a year. Without the sea drops and using spit or some kind of soap my goggles will stay fog free for maybe fifteen to twenty minutes, with the sea drops they will stay fog free for 45 minutes to the end of my one hour swim. Also they appear to work best with the least amount applied, then give them a quick rinse in the water and put them on. I always buy fog free swimming goggles, they all work to start with and if they last an hour for a month without fogging up then that is exceptional. After the goggles initial anti fog has stopped working, I then start to use the Sea Drops, I also find it more effective if I wash the lenses after swimming with my hair shampoo to keep them really clean and allow them to air dry. I keep buying this product and for over eight years, so I guess that is an endorsement.

I had never used any product like this before. They work great. I tried two different methods, and they both worked. Note: I only washed and treated the inside of the lens. I think treating the outside is ret@arded - simply a waste of product and effort. 1. I rubbed toothpaste and a touch of water on the inside of the lenses to make sure they were nice and clean. I dried them thoroughly, applied two drops to each inside face, rubbed, and removed excess/buffed with a non-lotion tissue. This offered very good results. 2. A few days later, I noticed the masks were fogging up again. On the beach, I appled a couple drops to each inside of lens and rubbed around. I rinsed excess in water before putting on, and it worked really well. This method is exactly the same as using spit, except this stuff lasts a nice long time. Great product. Mask stays really very fog free for quite a while.

The wife and I purchased before snorkeling in Hawaii. All directions were followed exactly and the drops didn't work for us at all. The first thing my wife said was how bad her goggles were fogging up. I laughed and agreed. WE HATE spending money and not getting what we paid for. The old method of a little spit on the goggles worked better than this. My opinion, not something I would purchase again.

This was very helpful for keeping the fogging down in my mask when I went snorkeling and scuba diving in the Caribbean last week.

This product came up in a product search on Amazon where I was specifically looking for anti-fog for swim goggles. My bad really because I didn't read the very clear instructions on the product itself which says not to be used with swim goggles. I didn't figure it out until after I put it on my swim goggles and noticed what a weird viscosity it had. It just kind of bugged me on how careful you have to be for the simplest of purchases.
