I purchased 3 of these and we use them for cold water storage in the refrigerator. We place a few cucumbers, limes, etc in the diffuser section. We wash the pitchers by hand, never the dishwasher. There we're no instructions on how to wash them, so we are being careful while washing.After two rounds of holding freshwater and fruit, the plastic can start to get moldy after about 5-7 days use. The plastic will hold smells. I used diluted apple cider vinegar on all parts and let sit for hours, then washed thoroughly with Dawn soap and hot water, irrigating the spout...in order to get rid of the smell (that transfers to the water taste as well).Also, one of the lids do not seal well and that pitcher is ever leaking from the top when we move it on the fridge shelf.Besides that manufacturing flaws and the necessary upkeep, we have so far enjoyed having freshwater to drink all day. We do not buy bottled water.

This is a great product. The top and the round filler top snap securely in place, there's no leaking even if you slosh it around a lot when moving it. The handles on the ends are easy to grip. The spigot was easy to install - it has a hex head on the inside, so you can use a small wrench - GENTLY, it is plastic - to get it tight if you can't grip it well enough with your fingers. I like that the spigot is recessed into the end of the container. Fits well on a fridge shelf. The green color goes perfectly with my kitchen.Best thing: the top part of my Brita filter pitcher fits right into the round opening, and sets securely on the top, so I can filter directly into the container.I just got this, so I don't know about durability, but it seems sturdy and well made. If I don't have any problems with it over the next few weeks, I'm definitely going to get another one, so I can have one in the fridge and one on the counter.
