BANDAI Soul of Chogokin Getter Dragon from Shin Getter Robo GX-51

Eventhough he is a little shorter than most Soul Of Chogokin figures this version of Getter Robo 1 is still a good buy. He is loaded with diecast metal and is very durable. The magnetic connections on his arms are super tight and always stay put. The two HUGE battle axes that are included are great but they are a little sharp so young kids should not be handling these.All together he comes with 4 hands (fists,and weapon holding hands), Dragon wing cape, display stand,Arm crossed attachments, and the 2 gnarly axes. The posability on this figure is much better than earlier versions of Getter Dragon.The arm crossed attachments look great when on display. The green paint apps on his chest and forehead look cool as well. My only complaint is the cape/dragon wing accessory falls off a little too easy but overall this is a very good chogokin and It is a good deal for the price.

Hello.I just received this item and had some time to "play" with it.Positives.It is heavy with about 70 to 80% die cast content. The chest, upper arms, hip,hip joints, and entire legs excluding feet are metal!As usual Soul of Chogokin quality, The paint job is automobile quality free of defects!Articulation is almost limitless with many ball joints and clicky rachet joints on critical places.Overall, it's just very well done metal figure with imposing presence on your shelf with lot of playability.Negatives.All Bandai CHogokin have quirks and this is no exception.The new shoulder joint Bandai's engineers experimenting with this fig looks little odd.Strangely, The right thigh has more rotation then left thigh..Also the left thigh is so tight when I turn it the metal joint will give little. I used "food grade mineral oil" I bought at grocery store use lube it a bit....or better yet, use a food grade silicon lubeAgain, paint app on "part line (gap)" on the thigh looks little sloppy, in comparison to other perfect parts.As stated on the included instruction The "arm saw blade" will not turn when the arm is folded....why oh why Bandai?Feet are plastic...To me this just doesn't make any sense. Go head and charge $5 more and make the darn feet metal.Some collectors say it's to avoid "feet slap" effect (which will cause chip paint) due to heavy metal feet hitting each other due to loose hip joint...To me, that's a cop out. If I'm going to pay $90 for a toy, Do you (Bandai) think I'm going to worry about extra 5 to make the toy perfect? Please improve the hip joint issue and make those feet metal.Lastly, the toy is packaged in horrible non recyclable styro coffin and whole thing smelled of pure chemical toxic.Despites quirks, styro packaging and a $90 price tag, the "Shin" Getter Dragon is fun, cool, and imposing figure that really deserves its four stars.Off topic but, Bandai I dare you to release Metal Build or Metal Composite Zaku (with lots of die cast)...Day one preorder from me.

Very well done addition in the SOC line. It looks amazing. A cold, heavy joy to handle. Newer SOC style leg extension is much better than the older design.*Be VERY careful when putting the axe in the hand. Heat the hand a little so you don't have to force the axe in. The tip of the axe handle can seriously injure you if you slip putting in*You have to get GX-52 Getter 1 also, they look soooo good together!

Awesome display piece...brilliant red and bulky. Thicker legs in comparison to other bandai robots makes this a figure that stands out.

This is my favorite piece in the my collection. I really wish they sold replacement parts. I paid much, much less than $200 several years ago for this guy, and yesterday it got knocked off the shelf. One of the arms broke and two of the head-spikes broke as well. Just like that, ruined, and no way to get replacement parts.

このゲッタードラゴン、私は一目ぼれして買いました。　このドラゴンの最大の魅力は、なんといっても「腕組み」ではないでしょうか。従来の両腕を交互に重ねただけの腕組みでは再現できない、腕組みパーツが同梱されております。また、空中浮遊状態にしてくれるスタンドがついていて、その魅力を十二分に発揮してくれます。（自分は空中腕組み状態で飾ってあります。）　これは、ドラゴンだけに限ったことではないですが、自分は超合金関連は初めてだったので、とにかくその重さと重量感に感動しました。この感動はプラスティックのガンプラでは味わうことのできないものがあります。　値段はそこそこしますが、このドラゴンそのものの姿に魅力を感じる人は、購入されてもいいのではないかと思います。

素直にカッコいいです。TV版のゲッターは、顔と細身のアレンジが好みではないので原作に近いこのゲッターは好きです。できればお腹まわりがもう少し太ければ (スタンド用のアタッチメント程) なお良いのですが。 問題の腕組みですが、細いこと言うと手は二の腕に掛かるんですが、これは致し方ないですね。でもだんだんゼンジー北京に見えてきて ... いやいやカッコいい！と思いましょう。 いまパンツを黄色に塗ろうか迷っています。ヒゲも尖らせようか？とか。

先に出たマジンガーＺで稼働がよくなりこのドラゴンも満足ですが、新規物のゲッターシリーズのリリースにそろそろ移ってほしいです。

キャラとしては、OVA作品、非主役、量産型と三重苦を背負い、超合金魂としては合体変形なし、特殊なギミックなしと地味な存在のゲッタードラゴンですが、設定やアニメ劇中にとてもよく似ていて、よくできております！！！頭の造形は非常に再現度が高く、薄いヒゲ（？）やアンテナは転倒時の破損が気になるほどで、模型的にもレベルが高いと思います。パーツ差し替えですが、腕組みができるのもうれしいですね。合体変形等の苦労がなければ、ここまで似せられるんだ、と正直感心しました。OVA版の元になった原作版ゲッタードラゴンは秀逸なデザインのゲッター１の影に隠れがちですが、元祖悪役顔主役ロボ、元祖腕組みロボと後のアニメロボに与えた影響は小さくありません。欠点は足首のパーツがプラのようで、立たせたときの安定性がイマイチな気がします。個人的には満足度がとても高かったです。

スタイル良いが、腿太くてもよかったかも。＜剛＞のイメージが強い方がいい。
