The VERY BEST taste and relatively low in sugar for anyone managing diabetes or pre-diabetes
This is my favorite chocolate bar and the sugar is quite acceptable for diabetics and pre-diabetics. You can eat about 2/5ths of a bar in one sitting and get only about 8g of sugar...but that is too much to eat in one sitting anyhow. Just take one run of tabs off the top. I found this on Amazon and read lots of reviews for this and others. I also used the reviews to find my second favorite. Ironically, both are also listed as two of three top bars for taste in a paleo diet book where they rate the raw ingredients. I didn't need that additional confirmation but, okay, I'll take it. I discovered this after I formed my own opinion and later cracked the book. This chocolate really melts nicely in your mouth and the aftertaste just sits there and works its after-magic on your taste buds. No kidding, this is the best where the taste is about the chocolate and not the sugar. When you open the wrapper, there is a whole story on the inside so read away. Enjoy the story, relish the taste. Seriously, try this. I did find it considerably cheaper in my local organic market but if you can't find it cheaper, or just want to try it first, hit the purchase button right now. You won't regret it. And for all of you coffee drinkers, this pairs great and is my favorite "dessert".

The Perfect Dark Choclate
Milk chocolate is sweet and addicting but this chocolate tastes just right, not too sweet yet definitely not bitter. I can't say the same for Ghirardelli Midnight Reverie which to me tastes like drywall but without the flavor. Milk Chocolate compared to Extra Dark is "as moonlight unto sunlight or as water unto wine".Some reviewers said that they ate 1/2 to a whole bar a day. The recommended "serving", according to the label, is 9 pieces out of 24 per 3.5 ounce bar. There were no reviews less than 5 stars. Once you taste it you will understand why. You may be able to find it for a lower price at your local store, particularly if there is a sale, but they tend to run out of it as soon as it is put up for sale. There may be good health reasons to eat very dark chocolate: it is reputed to help lower blood pressure, to be anti inflammatory, help relieve chronic fatigue, may aid in preventing heart attacks, lower LDL, etc.It is also recommended that for maximum health benefits it is best to consume small portions during the day rather than all at one time.It may be advisable to ask your M.D. to check your triglycerides level if you consume a lot of sugar/candy and are overweight, over 40 or have a family history of diabetes.

Hard and crunchy with no taste
I was really disappointed with these because they are my favorite chocolates. Usually the texture is soft and the taste is delicious. Instead, these are hard and crunchy with no flavor. The packaging was nice but I’ll definitely not purchase them again.

best chocolate bar ever
Preface: I've been in the natural products business for 30 years, and have been a rep for numerous fantastic organic chocolate manufacturers. When I became a vegan five years ago, I switched to just dark chocolate. Obviously that narrows the field to a few of these excellent brands, like Dagoba, Rapunzel, and Theo, among others. I've been buying Equal Exchange chocolates from time to time, and discovered the Panama flavor the other day. It was so good that I immediately went on Amazon and found the product at the best price anywhere. The Panama bar is super dark- probably around 75-80% cacao. It's amazingly smooth, especially for a dark chocolate product. With that much cacao content, there is little room left for sugar, so the bar is definitely not overly sweet. I'd say it's got a perfect balance in that regard.I'd say the only thing wrong with this product is its potential to be addictive. I had been eating only a couple ounces a week until I discovered this bar. Suddenly I'm eating an entire 3.5 ounce bar each day. Sooooo good.

Good Organic Chocolate
My shipment arrived today on time. The seller contacted me to let me know that the chocolates might arrive misshapen because of the climate in my area--I live in Los Angeles--which I thought was a really cool thing to do. Upon opening the box the first thing I did was check the condition of the chocolate bars and they were not misshapen or melted or anything. They were packed with an ice pack that was naturally melted by the time the package arrived. After tasting the chocolates, I noticed the taste was very strong but pleasant. The texture of the chocolates was very smooth and easy to chew. But, the best part of these chocolates is that they are organic. They're grown by farmers in Central America using very pure ingredients. No soy lecithin in these babies! I will order again in the future and recommend them.

Poor quality chocolate delivered x 2
I LOVE this chocolate brand when I purchase in the local stores. I buy the 80% and the 88% cocoa versions. This is a review for the 80% cocoa, called 'Panama'. I purchased 2 x 6 packs from Amazon, in one order. I've opened both packs and sampled a small piece out of each and both have that white dusty looking covering you see when chocolate has been roughed up by temperature or some other factor (age?). The taste isn't very good and it feels more brittle than something fresher. Both have 'best by' dates of 7/14/23 so they should be fine, but obviously aren't. Check the photo and you can likely see where I rubbed the chocolate with my finger to rub off the white dust. This is evident on the first sample from each 6-pack. Can't return these items so I'll have to either toss, gift to someone or suck it up and consume them!:(I did purchase a 12 pack of the 88% ‘Extreme Dark’ variety recently from Amazon and that too was substandard quality but not as bad as the 80% Panama variety. Both these varieties are much cheaper on Amazon than at the local store but I’ll probably wait for sales at the local store instead of buying them from Amazon in the future. I love quality dark chocolate.

Usually buy
I usually buy this brand and love very dark chocolate. These came and they were discolored. It hasn't affected the flavor, but makes me wonder how long they had been sitting in the warehouse.
