Color:RedEveryone has, on occasion, forgotten to take the frozen meat from the freezer in preparation for the evening meal, then either hurriedly defrosted it in the microwave (partially cooking the edges) or having to buy a last minute "fast food" meal. The Mocatrend Defrost tray solves this common problem by allowing you to defrost frozen food up to 10 times faster than at room temperature! The Powerocean Defrost Tray requires no electricity, chemicals or heating! In fact, the tray will be completely cool to the touch! Simply place the defrost tray onto your kitchen counter and add your frozen food to the top. I know this all sounds too good to be true, so here's a simple test. Place an ice cube onto the defrost tray and another onto a normal household plate, watch as the ice cube on the Defrost Tray melts before your eyes! Thawing times will vary depending on the thickness of the meat but on average it will take between 30 and 60 minutes, much quicker than leaving in the fridge which can take 24hrs to fully defrost and quicker and safer than at normal room temperature, which can take 10 hours. Leaving meat out at room temperature for long periods of time is also unhygienic, allowing bacteria to spread. The Powerocean Defrost Tray is simple to clean, needing only soap and hot water. As always, use precautions when handling raw meat.

Doesn’t really work as well as they’d have you believe
The first thing i did when this came in the mail was to set an ice cube on it to see if it was as good as they said it was. The ice cube melted at seemingly miraculous speed. So I thought “wow! This thing really works!” But when it came time to thaw a piece of meat, the results weren’t nearly as impressive. Come to find out, these things work by surface contact. So the ice cube is going to melt faster because the ever expanding puddle of water creates more contact. Whereas a thawing piece of meat doesn’t work that way. As soon as the initial layer of meat touching the plates thaws a bit, there is now a gap between the still frozen meat and the plate and the thawing pretty well slows to normal thawing speeds. The only way to sort of work around this issue is to slice the meat into thin patties and lay them out flat so there is more surface contact. But thats alot of labor to get a few less minutes of thaw time. And since I have no interest in thawing ice cubes, this thing is rather useless to me. Better off just thawing meat in your oven at the lowest setting.

Ok
This is Ok to thaw meat. It really doesn't thaw a whole lot faster in my opinion. It's faster to thaw in the microwave than it is to thaw on this tray. Works great on ice cubes but meat can take awhile.

unnecessary device
A metal pan sitting on a grainte counter will do the same job in the same time. It is the same science.

Wish it were bigger.
Awesome. I only wish it was bigger and that it had some lips. Put a roll of ground beef and it rolled off. We didn't notice for an hour.

I don't think it works at all as fast as ...
I don't think it works at all as fast as they claim, even the thinnest of burger patties take over half an hour to thaw!

not sure its practicle
Not even sure why i got this, freeze a ton of stuff. Tried to thaw out some stuff in a freezer bag, didnt work too well. Tried some chicken and steak, and think this is too small to make a significant difference for anything other than a single small cut of something.

Doesn't work
Tried this several times with thin and thicker slices of meat. Does not work any faster than typical counter top thawing plus the red tray left stains on my counter that were hard to remove.
