The 5 stars are for customer service. I have not used the item yet for its intended purpose. I hoped that I could use it to skim the cream from raw milk by letting the milk out the bottom without remixing the cream that would rise to the top. It did not work - the milk and cream top dripped entirely out the bottom through the 'closed' seal.HOWEVER, the company has corresponded with me thru this attempt and made offers to compensate when I did not even ask. I received a discount on my original purchase and used it to buy another of THEIR products because I want to support them. They provide a wonderful e-cookbook and I have used the Buttermilk Pancake recipe to make the BEST pancakes I have EVER eaten. They also sent a sweet, creative thank-you when the original purchase was made. I liked the personal touch - thanks, Utilwise - you shine!

I’ve had other dispensers that were made with plastic handles. They both broke after a few months of use. This is all metal and should hold up well over time. I have two issues with this one however:1. The hole through which the batter is dispensed is too small. My pancake takes for ever to drop through. It should be at least 25 percent bigger.2. As far as I can tell there is no way to disassemble the sliding handle to clean the piece that covers the hole. I’m hoping that quickly cleaning after use with a spray kitchen nossel will do the trick. Time will tell.

Easy cleanup as long as you fill it up with water to soak until your read to wash. Cleans up very nicely. Works very well and is sturdier than the previous plastic batter dispenser I had that broke after a few uses.Remember to thin your batter slightly for easier flow. No drips and sits firmly on metal rod base that is spot welded onto bottom.

This product is very good and a wonderful idea! I had one before but it was plastic and broke😕 I wanted one that was durable and stainless steel so I got this one. There are only 2 concerns: it leaks and it needs a lid but if you don’t mind those 2 issues you’ll be great with this product. I mean, you can put a small plate to catch the small amount of batter that leaks out but that’s it otherwise it’s good. 3 stars because it leaks and needs a lid👍

This batter dispenser seems to work well. It does not leak. With the batter I make it does not have any problem coming out. I have been through a lot of plastic ones and the handle will always break. I do not think this will happen with this one being made out of stainless steel. Of course, the verdict is still out on long term use because I use the dispenser every day.

When I bought this little gadget I thought that I would be able to mix the pancake batter in the unit. As it turns out the bottom part does not seal so everything leaks out the bottom unless it is already stirred up and thick. I’m not sure what the purpose of this product is. I had to mix it in a bowl and then carefully transfer the batter to the dispenser. Why not just transfer from the bowl to the griddle ?If I could give it less than 1 star I would . This serves no purpose. Maybe others don’t leak out the bottom? I could see it being useful if the mixing and everything could be done right in one place but in this case it doesn’t work that way . Disappointed

If you prefer to make batter your way with no modifications then this is not for you. I'm not happy that I have to thin the batter to a watery consistency to get it to go through the dispenser. At that point the batter Is over worked. With that being said, if you are making a large amount of pancakes, etc. Then it does it's job and keeps down on the messiness. It is also made very well and comes with the silicone baking cups. It is a little difficult to clean as in you can just run it through the dishwasher without rinsing the dispensing trap first, but not a big deal.

I have not had the opportunity to use my dispenser yet, but with the up coming holidays I'm sure I will. I am very pleased with it so far, very sturdy and well made. I have one that I've had for many years and do not remember where I even purchased it. My new one will be so much better, will be easy to fill, clean and use, and hold more batter. I would take a picture of my old one but that would cause everyone to roll on the floor laughing. It's small cheap and plastic, yuch.Update used the product, love it!
